Jimmy Kimmel is now on my last nerve. In fact, he probably sits atop lots of last nerves, especially after he mocked First Lady Melania Trump’s accent.
It all started last Monday, the day after Easter, when President Trump and the First Lady hosted the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House. Mrs. Trump read a book aloud to the children, which Kimmel thought was just hilarious. Not because the book was amusing, but because she has accented English, since she grew up in Slovenia.
“Dees and dat,” mocked Kimmel. Then he turned to sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez, who was also laughing, to prove that this ridicule wasn’t really racist at all. See, this Hispanic guy thinks it’s funny!
Now I grew up near Chicago, and I remember a time when the blue-collar residents of the South Side used “dees” and “dat” in their speech patterns. Perhaps it was because their parents were, like Mrs. Trump, immigrants from East Europe. If a schmuck like Kimmel came to Chicago back then and made fun of their accents, he would’ve gotten a knuckle sandwich. And deservedly so.
But, since this is the First Lady, she’s fair game. Not everyone thinks so, and lots of people are fed up — starting with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
Hannity attacked Kimmel via Twitter, and vowed to continue until Kimmel apologized to the First Lady. Hannity called him a “sick, twisted, creepy, perverted weirdo” on his Fox Show as well.
Kimmel replied:
Don't worry – just keep tweeting – you'll get back on top! (or does Trump prefer you on bottom?) Either way, keep your chin up big fella..XO https://t.co/R4QJCoGYCL

Which then made liberals and gays angry for insulting gay people:
I swear to Beyonce if you straight people don’t STOP making things gay because you can’t find a way to be clever or original in any other way, we will impose sanctions and cease aide! https://t.co/8L9DX3hEE6

And. . .
Every time a liberal wants to insult a Republican, they imply they are gay.
Never fails. https://t.co/BR5r2Gi8tO

Well, apparently someone over at ABC/Disney Studios must’ve decided that enough was enough. So Kimmel apologized to Hannity. Sort of.

Yeah, I see no sincerity in that half-assed apology to Hannity. And certainly no apology towards the First Lady. None whatsoever.
But now everyday people are expressing their anger at Kimmel’s attacks on Melania Trump.
There is now an online petition which calls for a boycott of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” As of this writing, the petition has nearly tripled its goal of 50K signatures.
Here’s a link to the petition. Organizers plan to mail the petition to ABC/Disney Studios on Monday morning.
This is all happening, ironically, after ABC President Ben Sherwood did a happy dance when high ratings for “Roseanne” came in. Plus, Sherwood boasted that on the morning after the 2016 presidential election, ABC execs held a meeting to figure out how to reach Middle America.
Right. Like we’re some sort of exotic cultural subgroup. Well, guess what, fellas — you’re doing it wrong. No wonder ABC ratings are stuck in fourth place.
Memo to Jimmy Kimmel — Americans love Melania a lot more than they care about you. And then you and your buds at ABC wonder how Donald Trump got elected.
What exactly is there to laugh at in this beautiful lady’s accent anyway? I find Melania’s accent to be on a par with everything else about her – charming and attractive.
Not only is this fellow not a gentleman, but like all other SJW’s, he is a coward and a hypocrite.
Does anyone think for one moment that if the Dauphin, Jeb!, had been elected his Mexican wife’s accent would be mocked? Likewise, if Melania’s heritage were Chinese or African or were she muslim would her way of speaking – or anything else about her – be held up to ridicule? Of course not. Quite the reverse.
Your first-rate First Lady has a target on her back because she is feminine, classically attractive and of European descent: and that is a form of diversity that is strictly verboten by those who falsely purport to love diversity. I don’t care what these childish SJW’s think or say – but I do resent their blatant hypocrisy.
Yeah, that was definitely not an apology to Hannity.
