Today, Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen were going to be attending the Indianapolis Colts home game against the San Francisco 49ers.
They didn’t even make it to kickoff.
The Pences are Colts fans, which makes sense, as the vice president is the former governor of Indiana. And it seems they were looking forward to the game.
Looking forward to cheering for our @Colts & honoring the great career of #18 Peyton Manning at @LucasOilStadium today. Go Colts! pic.twitter.com/C3aCYUNpqG

And then, during the National Anthem, some of the 49ers players took a knee.
And the Vice President and Second Lady left the game.

President Trump was quick to applaud the Vice President’s actions.
I asked @VP Pence to leave stadium if any players kneeled, disrespecting our country. I am proud of him and @SecondLady Karen.

The debate rages on.
But in the meantime, the person who started this whole movement, Colin Kaepernick, has changed his mind.

Too little, too late? Probably.

Way to stand on principle, Kaep. Well done. https://t.co/asGrDvBTrk

This is now a game of calculated moves. The players knew the vice president was in attendance. Pence knew exactly what he was planning on doing if the players knelt during the anthem. The NFL continues to suffer decreased ratings and favorability. There is no political downside to the vice president walking out of the game. At this point, I don’t know if there is a graceful way to let the NFL save face and try and repair their image.
UPDATE 1:35 PM PDT
Wait a minute… it seems that a CBS reporter completely made up Kaepernick’s comment about standing for the anthem.
NEW YORK (AP) – CORRECTION: CBS reporter clarifies on saying Kaepernick would stand for anthem, says they didn't discuss issue.

Um, that is very, very bad.
This is not a "correction." This is not a "clarification." This is just absurd. pic.twitter.com/mwmyc16ndD

"Clarifies" is an interesting term for "made up thing that didn't happen" apparently. https://t.co/crWR4h5Qe3

Good job, CBS.
Hahaha. Ok, what is the NFL going to do if Trump wants to go to a game? The players will kneel for sure… and Trump will leave. hahaha. so no matter how the NFL would maybe like to tone this down… they would lose control immediately again. Too funny. They can’t control their players and the left won’t let them end the fight… even though the NFL is bleeding it’s base.
LaCanfora now says he was referring to a report on the Especially Stupid People Network from months ago that Krapernick said he’d stand for the anthem. Of course, his original report said that he and Colon Cancer spoke for several hours, and we’re supposed to believe that he didn’t talk about the elephant in the room. Didn’t. Discuss. It. At. All.
LaCanfora obviously got his start as an intern for Dan Rather working on the W National Guard story in 2004. And in case you didn’t realize, he works for CBS, which stands for

Our local Fox station morning news team was speculating if it had been a political ploy, implying that there was no other reason the VP would be at the game. Even saying that if it was, it was expensive to the tax payers.
🙁
It’s rather amazing to watch America’s most popular sport spiral down the toilet. The sport already had issues with thuggish players regularly hitting the news (and women). The crusher is CTE, fewer youths are getting in the sport because of that health hazard.
Politicizing the sport is probably it’s death knell.
“At this point, I don’t know if there is a graceful way to let the NFL save face and try and repair their image.”
The point is they shouldn’t be allowed to “save face” at this point.
They need to be publicly pounded, and to be forced to grovel to those of us they spat upon every time they let a player “take a knee”, after refusing to let players wear patches honoring police officers assassinated by a BLM supporter.
They chose a side. Until they publicly abandon that side, I’m done with them
