On Saturday morning, police in Washington State arrested rapper Nelly — real name Cornell Haynes, Jr. — on charges that he raped a woman, without using a condom, no less. But by Saturday night he was back on stage, thanks to his lawyer, who claimed that the charge was a “completely fabricated allegation.”

Whatever. So you’d think that after a rape accusation, Nelly would be a bit cautious about his behavior. Uh, no. I guess prudence doesn’t exist in rap world, since a Twitter user who attended the concert filmed this:

This is downright creepy.  Watch the girl’s body language — she wants to leave the stage. But the crowd cheers on the fake seduction of a preteen girl by a 42-year-old. Yes, Nelly is 42 years old. Let that sink in.

Moreover, this isn’t the only time Nelly ‘serenaded’ a young girl. Here’s yet another sickening video with a different girl, the same MO, and just as disturbing.

Update: We have removed the second video at the request of the nine-year-old girl’s mother.

However, I’m not the only one creeped out by this behavior. Social media lit up too.

Good question. Her parents? I don’t know, but neither of those girls drove to a Nelly concert by themselves. I wonder if those parents were thrilled that their little girls were ‘selected’ for Nelly’s special treatment? Perhaps they think they’ve attained some sort of celebrity cred. If you asked them, I bet they’d say that “she loved it!”

Yeah, right.

On top of that, I’d like to know where the feminists are? The pussy hat brigade? And furthermore, where are the media? At the time of this writing, the only news sources I found covering this story came from a British tabloid and an Australian news site.

Let’s face it — if conservative country singer John Rich did this, there would be screaming all over the media. But, Nelly is a black rapper, so the standard is different.

Look, I don’t care what he is. If Josh Groban pulled that kind of crap on stage, I would be just as angry. And for the record, I attended a Josh Groban concert in 2004, and Groban didn’t even drop a “bitch,” “hoe,” or F-bomb on stage. Furthermore, there were families attending that concert — I even saw parents who brought their child with Down Syndrome.

So why do we allow rappers this sort of leniency? If a department store Santa seductively stroked a little girl’s hair, he’d be out on his fat tuchas, and rightly so. But rappers and other celebrities can get away with shocking behavior. Exhibit A: Roman Polanski.

Meanwhile, I’ll just sit back and wait for feminists to condemn Nelly’s outrageous stage behavior. But something tells me that it’s never gonna happen.
