What do you do if you really want to punch a Nazi, and there are no Nazis to punch?
That’s the dilemma that San Francisco progressives faced on Saturday, when the “Nazis” they wanted to fight didn’t materialize.
On Friday I told you how a non-political, diverse group called ‘Patriot Prayer’ planned to rally “for love and prayer.” Never mind the good intentions, however. They wouldn’t be welcome in San Fran. All hell would break loose if they showed up, according to people like Nancy Pelosi.
Consequently, the organizer, Joey Gibson, thought better of the whole rally idea. He cancelled because of fears of pending violence. Seems to me that he’s definitely not an alt-right Nazi-type spoiling for a fight, a là Charlottesville.
He held a press conference on Saturday:
Other members of Patriot Prayer spoke out as well. One Latino member told reporters how they were not racists:

A commenter a Twitter said this:
These #PatriotPrayer people aren't even white. A mob of 99% white people shut them down and called them Nazis. What a joke. #AlamoSquare

What a joke, indeed. So who are the racists, now?
Meanwhile, poor Antifa, anti-Trump, Resistance, Anarchists, Communists, LGBT — whatever. They had no “Nazis” to punch! No one to fight! So what’s a good protester to do?
Well, you still go about disrupting the city. Because, as the GEICO commercial says, it’s what you do.
If those Nazis weren’t about to show up, well, they’d find something to protest, damnit!
So the left-wing demonstrators set about marching through the streets of San Francisco. They clogged streets and managed to shut down a freeway off-ramp.
Naturally, stuff like this happened, too.
And what did the good mayor of San Francisco say about all this turmoil? Ed Lee praised the demonstrators who were blocking roads and traffic. “They made sure the themes of love and compassion dominated over hate speech,” he said.
Well, that’s nice. Tell that to the poor drivers who couldn’t use the off-ramp because of the hippies clogging it.
Needless to say, demonstrators are taking this as a win. As CA state senator Scott Wiener said, “We have the fascists on the run!”
Well, senator, you just keep telling yourself that. Maybe in your little wacky part of the nation you rule. Meanwhile decent Americans are becoming more and more disgusted with your never-ending temper tantrums. These kind of shenanigans are one big reason why Donald Trump sits in the White House.
ok, why is it that when i hear the antifa fools saying things about hitting nazi’s, in the face, i suddenly have visions of the old schoolyard bully meme, “why do you keep hitting yourself?”…
“They made sure the themes of love and compassion dominated over hate speech”
You keep using those words. I don’t think those words mean what you think they mean.
