Boston Globe Says The 2017 Total Solar Eclipse Is Throwing Shade At Hillary Clinton [VIDEO]

Yes, you read that headline correctly. Matt Rocheleau of the Boston Globe thinks the solar system has jumped into politics. Seriously.

Is the eclipse throwing shade at Clinton supporters?

The path of ideal viewing spots for this month’s highly-anticipated total solar eclipse cuts overwhelmingly through places that voted for President Trump in November.

There are about 240 counties roughly along the central path of the eclipse, a 70-mile-wide trail extending across the country where people will be able to see a total eclipse, meaning the sun will appear completely obscured by the moon.

And about 92 percent of those counties swung in Trump’s favor, while fewer than two dozen counties voted for his opponent, Hillary Clinton.

Wow!! What a super duper interplanetary hot take you’ve got there!

Oh my gosh! Whatever shall we do! The sun, moon, and stars have been political all this time. I mean who knew??

Even Clinton voted for Trump — Clinton, Mo., that is. The county lies right along the heart of the total eclipse’s path, and 69.2 percent of voters there cast their ballot for Trump.

NOOOO… REALLY? Oh it gets even better…or worse, depending upon your point of view.

Still, it’s not entirely surprising that the eclipse’s path of best perspective could slice through the entire country while mostly avoiding areas that backed Clinton.

Perhaps it’s not a surprise that the solar eclipse is passing over Trump strongholds given that the president himself was born during a lunar eclipse.

On June 14, 1946, the day Trump was born, there was a total lunar eclipse, though it wasn’t visible from the United States, NASA records show. Instead, it could be seen from parts of South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.

WOWZER. That’s so amazing …I can’t even.

Ok, well since that won’t work. Matt, it’s extraordinary obvious to, well, pretty much everyone that your column is …ludicrous.

A quick history lesson. There were 8 eclipses total or partial crossing various parts of the United States in the 1800’s. There were 11 partial or total eclipses that crossed sections of the U.S. between 1900 and today. Some of those occurred during WWI, as the Depression was underway, at the end of WWII, while Nixon was President in 1970, and in 1970 just three days AFTER President Carter gave his “malaise” speech.

Stop the presses! After viewing the evidence, it must be true! The solar system has been playing politics for at least 200 years! Yes, Really!

Well, there is that. Meanwhile, cities and towns in the path of the eclipse are busy getting ready for the influx of viewers.

Matt, if you can put politics aside for just one moment and enjoy being part of something so cool, something that many of us across the U.S. will never get to experience again; you might want to head to one of those dreaded TRUMP spots.

On August 21, 2017, the Sun and Moon are going to do their thing.

As for their supposed political bent? Matt, something you should consider when mulling over your follow-up article.

There you have it! The evidence is clear! The solar system has completely dissed Hillary Clinton.

Perhaps she needs a new pair of shades?

Given Matt’s exceptional hot take, perhaps we’ve been looking at this eclipse from the totally wrong point of view. Forget science! Let me introduce you to the latest and greatest event of all time!

    Those eeeeevil Conservatives!!

Hogging so much of the eclipse — with that racist Sun!

Not to fear. The Moon will totally obscure that mean old racist Sun from burning its victims. In fact, the Moon will be dark, yea even black(!) to the human eye.

    Ergo:

    Black Satellites Matter

That should atone for this blatant attempt by the Right Wingers in this current Administration to slight the urban Democrat strongholds and deprive the poor folk there the opportunity to participate in this event.

    Right?

I mean really??!! How DARE the sun and moon ignore Florida, New York, and California!

Then again, maybe they are getting back at Hillary for ignoring Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

OMG, they’re increasing! Almost 50% more! It must be global warming! Or overpopulation has thrown off the wobble of the earth as it moves around the sun! Yeah, that’s the ticket!

    *facepalm*

Looking at the full electoral map, it would be very hard to draw any diagonal across the US that didn’t show the same advantage to Trump voters.
