Chelsea Clinton has traveled internationally. That’s apparently the high bar of experience that it takes to secure a high-paying spot on the board of directors at Expedia.

If that’s all it takes, where do I sign up for a job at Expedia? After all, Expedia is big on promoting their careers in technology.

But if your maiden name is Clinton (again, let us ask if Mrs. Chelsea Mezvinsky would have gotten this gig if not for her maiden name), you get to skip right over everything to land a plum spot on the board.

Expedia (EXPE) said Clinton will be paid “in accordance with the company’s standard compensation policies” for board members.
According to an Expedia proxy statement from August, non-employee directors were paid a $45,000 “annual retainer” and awarded $250,000 worth of stock in 2015.

Trading in on her name and her parents has pretty much been Chelsea’s gig, since her days at NBC to her current status on other boards.

Clinton serves on the board of one other corporation: IAC/InterActive Corp (IAC), the company that owns websites including Dictionary.com, About.com, Vimeo, Investopedia and The Daily Beast.
She also sits on the boards of the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton Health Access Initiative, the School of American Ballet, the Africa Center, and Weill Cornell Medical College. She’s also co-chair of the advisory board for New York University’s Of Many Institute.

Being Bill and Hillary’s only child sure has proved to be a cash cow. After all, who wouldn’t love a quarter million dollars in stock just because of your last name?

Oh, well, don’t forget that Chelsea is also a published author. And she even has another book coming out!

Seeing as the title is directly ripping off Senator Mitch McConnell’s comment about Senator Elizabeth Warren, which created a popular hashtag, I highly doubt Chelsea was suddenly inspired to sit down and do the research on 13 women in just a little over one month – complete with snazzily illustrated book cover! Suuuuuuuure.

But, this is the same woman who Katie Couric declared “mom of the year” after less than two months of motherhood. So who am I to judge?

Or in this case, a Clinton.
