Tonight is the president’s annual State of the Union address. It will be carried by all the major networks, plus the cable news channels, beginning at 9 pm EST, 6 pm PST.

In previews of this year’s speech, taxes are sure to be the drumbeat of the president’s song. After all, how does one provide free community college, free health care, and other free goodies? You have to get the money from somewhere. Expect the usual suspects of Iran, ISIS (now playing in the pros after being upgraded from the JV league from last year), North Korea and Afghanistan to all make an appearance. Also, Cuba is sure to get a shout-out or two (I would pay BIG money to have Marco Rubio pull a Joe Wilson when Obama mentions Cuba). And of course, lip service will be paid to the troops at some point, while neatly dodging all the failures of the VA system.

The 2015 version of the SOTU drinking game is now available as well. Drink responsibly, because everyone needs to be sober enough to hear freshman Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa deliver the Republican response.
