9/11: Ground Zero Recap And Giggle-Gate

As many reflected upon the 25th anniversary of 9/11, New Yorkers held a somber ceremony at Ground Zero.

Family members, friends and New Yorkers gathered at the somber event. The names of the victims were read. There were tears. And then, there was a brief moment oflaughter

…from the socialists. I could just imagine the conversation.

Zohran Mamdani: Sandy! Long time, no see. Dang. You’re looking good, girl. Looooorrrrrve the red lipstick. Commie red is so sexy. I hear you’re now single…(wink, wink)

AOC: Oh, Z! Flattery will get you nowhere. I know all you want to do is sleep with me!

All while names were read and tears were shed. But, in all honesty, we could never count on either Zohran Mamdani or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to read the freaking room. No somber faces from these two. No tears. Just LOLs.

For some, a day of mourning. For other like-minded jackasses, a celebration. A social event. An opportunity to be seen. A glaring display of an utter lack of humility between these two. I am shocked one of them didn’t check their damn watch.

Still, there will be outlets and people who defend this disgusting behavior-this moment of levity in such a heavy atmosphere. You know what was heavy? Those jets filled with fuel. The amount of gear those firefighters wore as they were climbing the steps to rescue individuals trapped on the upper floors of One and Two World Trade Center. The crumbling metal and concrete that came crashing down upon people who were still in those buildings. The feeling most Americans had on that day-that our landscape was forever changed. Literally and figuratively.

But Zohran Mamdani and AOC 25 years later? They were just having a lighthearted exchange”.

Honestly, it never ceases to amaze us how these two got elected. It certainly was not for their stellar intellect. Must have been their winsome personalities. Their ability to find levity in such a time or something. The juxtaposition here speaks volumes. The good people mourn. The evil? They smile and laugh. Again, it is all about form here and this brief moment is all kinds of tone-deaf. But, in all honesty, what more can we expect from a guy who has grown up in affluence and never had a real job pushing socialism and a woman who wears a “Tax The Rich” couture dress at a gala organized by the rich?

Smiled and laughed at a funeral for almost 3,000 people?! Really?

No, I can’t say that I have. So, really. Stop. In fact, I was the “Karen” at the 9/11 museum in 2016 who went all Joe Pesci-Jersey-Italian in Goodfellas and told a bunch of cackling teenagers to show some respect. I did. I asked them what they found to be so “funny”.

The self-proclaimed (chuckling) “Mayor For All”, Zohran Mamdani, showed up to part of a 9/11 peace walk the night before-the last part of the walk that ended at the Islamic Center. His hijab-wearing “auntie” was a victim of Islamophobia on the subway, after all. “Mrs. Mamdani”, Rama Duwaji, was visibly not at yesterday’s ceremony, though she showed up to New York Fashion Week and the Knicks ticker-tape celebration. You know? The important stuff. I will give Rama credit where credit is due. She’s an America-hating witch and she makes no pretenses about this fact.

Yesterday was a solemn day for many. But it was all appearances, grins and giggles and performative bullsh*t for these two. Joy. Vibes. I do hope this small little exchange gets played on endless loop into 2028, but I fear that we’re already too far gone. Still, we have hope.
