It isn’t just Chinese balloons that are raising concerns of espionage, it is the so-called Chinese “tourists” who’ve managed to get onto military bases and other federal installations that are causing red flags.
Chinese nationals, sometimes posing as tourists, have accessed military bases and other sensitive sites in the U.S. as many as 100 times in recent years, according to U.S. officials, who describe the incidents as a potential espionage threat.
The Defense Department, FBI and other agencies held a review last year to try to limit these incidents, which involve people whom officials have dubbed gate-crashers because of their attempts—either by accident or intentionally—to get onto U.S. military bases and other installations without proper authorization. They range from Chinese nationals found crossing into a U.S. missile range in New Mexico to what appeared to be scuba divers swimming in murky waters near a U.S. government rocket-launch site in Florida.
Yes indeed, over 100 times in recent years. But, not to worry! They are just innocent tourists who lost their way because Google maps steered them wrong or something. They were just joy-riding in the desert and OOPSIE! crossed that weird looking fence to continue their touristy fun.
Some have also used drones to take detailed aerial footage of sensitive military sites — while the Pentagon confirmed cases of people “speeding through security checkpoints.”
Many would-be intruders, however, claim to be confused tourists who think they have a reservation at an on-base hotel — and they often use what appears to be scripted language when confronted by security, the report said.

Other instances of Chinese nationals entering highly sensitive areas include apparent incursions at the White House and former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
Officials said Chinese nationals posing as tourists left the designated tour area of the White House to take pictures of the grounds, including communications gear and the positions of Secret Service personnel before being shooed away.
“shooed away??” Seriously? In most instances if one is NOT where they are supposed to be on a federal installation, that person isn’t just “shooed away.” Oh no, there are QUESTIONS. And why weren’t their cameras confiscated or at least the photos erased?? Instead they were left with a stern warning and were able to walk out of the White House with their photos? WOW.
As the reports show, this isn’t just one or two people who are doing this. There are GROUPS of Chinese nationals involved. Yet the Biden Administration insists the relationship between the U.S. and China is totally fine.
Yes, China views the U.S. as an enemy. Therefore, it’s not out of the realm of consideration to think that China wouldn’t try a variety of forms of espionage in order to get eyes on U.S. interests, federal installations, military bases, the White House, and more. Again, it isn’t just balloons. It’s the so-called tourists as well as Chinese nationals crossing our non-existent border.
A growing number of Chinese nationals are illegally entering the United States through the U.S.-Mexico border, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Protection (CBP) data shows.
The CBP recorded 4,271 Chinese nationals crossing the southern border between October and February, The Wall Street Journal reported. The number was more than 10 times greater than the same period the previous year.
How many of those are or were on the terror watch lists? They aren’t saying. But what we do know is that there is a significant increase of terrorists trying to get across the border.
CBP has seen a surge in individuals on the terror watchlist attempting to enter the U.S. in recent years. Border Patrol recorded 149 individuals trying to enter the country illegally so far in fiscal year 2023, which is up from 98 in all of fiscal year 2022 and 16 in fiscal year 2021, according to agency data.
Border Patrol has recorded more than 1.6 million illegal migrant encounters nationwide, according to federal data.
With our border totally wide open and our Border Patrol stretched criminally thin, the question is -how many terrorists and/or Chinese nationals have we missed?
NEW: WaPo reports illegal crossings shot up again in August, w/ Border Patrol apprehending 177,000 migrants, including the highest number of families ever recorded. Illegal crossings have now risen 30% two months in a row, as WH claims “stopping the flow”.https://t.co/ta6ckz1MiZ

That’s families. One has to ask if they are genuine families or …fake families. These numbers and the report of the Chinese incursions onto military bases is indeed a red flag. Especially if they are only apprehended and not deported.
Don’t know how many times this needs to be explained, but no, apprehensions do not equal deportations. A majority of the illegal immigrants Border Patrol apprehends are later released into the U.S. with court dates sometimes years away. Deportations are a drop in the bucket… https://t.co/Ye8QbDuX1L

Which ones will turn up as tourists trying to innocently claim they have a hotel reservation on base?
There’s another problem to this. For some reason, if one trespasses onto a federal installation, whether innocently or not, it’s a state or local issue. NOT a federal one!
Of course, China is laughing at us while they throw their people at the espionage wall and hope something sticks. You see, if an American tourist innocently wanders near or onto a Chinese military base, it is an immediate “go to jail, do not pass go” sentence for life. Here in the U.S. it’s a misdemeanor with zero jail time and only/maybe a fine.
Red flags are waving all over the place on this. Will the Biden Administration DO anything? Nope.

Chinese dignitaries have been touring US airbases (as DVs, distinguished visitors) for years now.
FWIW,
General Jumper (chief of staff) spoke at the first dining in I ever attended, when my spouse was ROTC.
He said he’d been asked to give a tour of an installation to some members of the USSR and he showed them all the kit with great enthusiasm.
It gave him pride to point to our military capabilities, to give them something to worry about.
When my spouse was asked to give a speech years later at the same University, for the same occasion, he mentioned it and said the same thing re the PRC.
Also FWIW, the PRC stole our data many times when my spouse was in the service.
The worst was when they tapped into all the top secret clearance people…they even stole the naturalization paperwork for my mom and my spouse’s parents. That was years ago and the military was pretty cavalier about it.
This is clearly an organized testing of security at military installations.
It’s long since time the United States expels all Chinese citizens from our country. China is an enemy, and needs to be treated as one. There are currently over 300,000 Chinese citizens in the US, and a substantial portion of them can be assumed to be either spies or saboteurs. We are under no obligation to allow “students” or “tourists” from China to remain.
