Brazil riots are just like Jan 6 according to the media and Democrats. Evidently no countries are allowed to protest their election process without being compared to January 6. Blaming Trump is also part of the equation.
Thousands of radical supporters of Brazil’s former far-right president, Jair Bolsonaro, stormed and vandalized the country’s Congress, Supreme Court and presidential office building on Sunday before being pushed back by security forces, in an episode that paralleled the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Get that? Anyone who questions the election process, no matter the country is considered a radical. You see, having doubts that your vote was actually recorded the WAY you voted is radical and must not be allowed. Questioning the sanctity and security of the entire online voting system is verboten.
Brazil has been a bit of a powder keg since the election last year. The votes cast came down to a 51% vs 49% margin, according to the election tallies. Here’s the kicker compared to the United States regarding voters.
Voting is compulsory in Brazil for all those who are literate and aged between 18 and 70. People aged 16 to 17 or older than 70 or who cannot read or write can cast a ballot if they wish.
There are more than 156 million registered voters in Brazil for this election.
So people HAVE to vote. Yet they are at least given the CHOICE of whom they vote for. In addition to Bolsonaro and Lula, there were several other candidates for President of Brazil. Yet the two main contenders somehow got the majority of the votes. Is it any wonder that people are asking questions??
Furthermore, Lula has a sketchy record himself. How is it that the courts magically overturn his convictions of grifting and corruption so he can run again for President? People yell about the system being gamed in the U.S., quite frankly, Brazil has been corrupt for decades so for their system to do a 180 and be on the up and up is a wee bit suspect.
What’s egregious is the media and Democrats jumping on the Brazil riots and comparing that to Jan 6.
The storming of government buildings on Sunday in Brasilia drew immediate parallels to the Jan. 6, 2021, attacks on the U.S. Capitol — almost exactly two years ago. Supporters of Bolsonaro have protested against Lula’s electoral win since last year; government forces retook the buildings from them Sunday evening.

“Domestic terrorists and fascists cannot be allowed to use Trump’s playbook to undermine democracy,” Castro tweeted.
Video of the attack in Brazil was “deeply disturbing,” having been in the Capitol on Jan. 6, Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-Calif.) said.
“Today’s attack on the heart of Brazilian democracy is visible proof of the dangers of how copycats seek to emulate what happened on Jan. 6,” said Jason Marczak, senior director at the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center.
Eric Swalwell REALLY went all in on the comparison stretch.
This violent attack on Brazil’s government is the first export of Kevin McCarthy’s Insurrection Party. https://t.co/apKtdfaG8r

You know, that is one helluva stretch. Are Democrats and the media going to blame every election type riot in the future on Trump, then stretch to people like Kevin McCarthy and Republicans as a whole? I guess so.
According to everyone, the pundits, it’s because of Bolsonaro’s action or inaction, the riots this weekend are his fault and also must be blamed on Trump.
He did ask protesters to stop disrupting commerce by blocking roads, and he condemned violence aimed at overturning the election result. But in an echo of Trump, he skipped Lula’s inauguration on Jan. 1, absconding instead to Florida to stay at the Orlando mansion of an MMA fighter.
In a teary farewell before his departure, he called the election result unfair. Now in his sudden absence, his most radical supporters have carried out his rhetoric to its logical, if violent, conclusion.
But yes, we must blame Trump for all past and future riots and government protests no matter where in the world they happen.
I hope Republicans are watching what's happening right now in Brazil and recognize that their feckless inability to condemn Trump for January 6 (not to mention complicity in his scheme) has allowed far-right insurrectionism to spread across the world.

And…Meathead is always good for a laugh!
If we don’t hold Trump and his Insurrectionist co-conspirators accountable, we risk going the way of Brazil. Jack Smith, Merrick Garland: Democracy’s ball is in your court.

Don’t get me wrong. Is the situation in Brazil serious? Yes it is. Has Brazil been a democrat Republic for very long if at all? No. Furthermore, let me remind you that voting in Brazil is mandatory. MANDATORY. Here in the United States, we have the RIGHT to vote but we aren’t REQUIRED to vote.
People in Brazil are protesting the vote results. The property damage there compared to the U.S. is far more extensive. Should THAT damage be blamed on January 6? No and hell no. Everyone is responsible for his or her own actions and blaming a past incident for your current actions isn’t the way. Even as Democrats and the media want to make it so.
The media and Democrats have spent the last years blaming Trump for everything. Evidently the man is magical and all future riots, election challenges, losses, taxes, Republicans winning, and other countries election challenges are to be blamed on Trump.

What you fail to address is the role of a former dictator who, like TFG (the f&%king genius), ginned up the base by claiming (without an ounce of proof) that the election was “stolen” from him and then doing the exact same thing … storming the legislature, causing thousands/millions of dollars in damage. People should be encouraged to protest their government (or police force, or place of work, or the church, or the schools or … whatever) but willfully destroying property should be universally condemned. Once you engage in willful destruction let’s hope your next contact with the government is in a courtroom and then behind bars, like hundreds/thousands of those who ransacked the capital at the behest of TFG (the f%#king genius).
For conservatives, the prospect of liberals winning elections poses a greater threat to the constitution than conservatives stealing them. That alone should tell you the true intentions of right-wing, wacko conservatives who displayed their intentions to “burn the house down” during the fiasco of electing a speaker.
” but willfully destroying property should be universally condemned. Once you engage in willful destruction let’s hope your next contact with the government is in a courtroom and then behind bars,”… Does that apply to BLM and Antifa members, and those in government like Pelosi, AOC, the squad, Kamala, etc Kevin???
It must really be tiring being so bitter, and wrong on damn near everything…
Now, now; you know that is “different” because “reasons” and “Trump.”
