Twitter Files Part Four: Trump Dumped

The Twitter Files are something else. Part Four dropped earlier this evening and instead of gaming how to dump Trump, Twitter employees actively engaged in ensuring he WAS summarily dumped on January 8th.

You can catch yourselves up on Parts One-Three here, here, and here. As Deanna summed it up, Twitter employees wanted Trump gone and were actively working to figure out how to do it and make it persuasive to their “IN” crowd of Democrats, media, leftists, et al.

Michael Shellenberger, long a thorn in the side of the delusional climate activists, was handed the reins of Part Four.

Needless to say, the shenanigans involved to get Trump Dumped is something to watch, especially since Trump was a money maker for the site. You can read through Shellenberger’s entire thread here. A few highlights.

“GUESS WHAT,” Twitter’s former head of trust and safety, Yoel Roth, wrote to colleagues on Jan. 7, 2021, according to a screenshot on an internal message. “Jack just approved repeat offender for civic integrity.”

A colleague then asked if Dorsey’s decision would translate to a Trump ban. The person also asks, “does the incitement to violence aspect change that calculus?” according to the screenshot.

No only that, but Trump was specifically targeted to be dumped. Not anyone else.

Meanwhile, as people have been digging, it seems that Twitter “Safety” exec Yoel Roth has …an interesting background. He’s on record claiming that the Babylon Bee triggered him. Not only that, but satire from any perspective except conservative is allowed! Meanwhile, some of his past work is DISTURBING.

THIS is whom Elon fired. A guy who seems to have been absolutely FINE with connecting kids to porn and sexual predators. As for protecting those kids? This is a guy who has proclaimed he HATES kids and was fine with allowing porn and sexual predators to have free rein on Twitter.

This is the same guy, along with Gadde, Dorsey, and others who – after being pushed by Twitter employees decided that yes, Trump needed to be dumped. And so they did.

Keep in mind, Twitter had Trump dumped even as they kept terrorists, porn, sexual predators, and other bad actors on the site.

Needless to say, these Twitter files have caught the attention of many. Including members of Congress. As Elon Musk said over the last couple of days, in some ways, Twitter is a crime scene. Given what we’ve been finding out regarding key employees of the company, I’d say that description is somewhat apt.

That said, it also seems that some of this provides cover for Jack Dorsey as he was on vacation at the time on the other side of the world. However, ultimately he even caved and ok’d the ban. The reason being, future “possible violence.”

“On January 8, Twitter announces a permanent ban on Trump due to the ‘risk of further incitement of violence,’” Shellenberger wrote.

“On J8, Twitter says its ban is based on ‘specifically how [Trump’s tweets] are being received & interpreted,'” Shellenberger continues. “But in 2019, Twitter said it did ‘not attempt to determine all potential interpretations of the content or its intent.’”

“Twitter employees recognize the difference between their own politics & Twitter’s Terms of Service (TOS), but they also engage in complex interpretations of content in order to stamp out prohibited tweets, as a series of exchanges over the “#stopthesteal’ hashtag reveal,” Shellenberger’s thread added.

OH. So, in other words, The Twitter employees threw the TOS (Terms of Service) out the window because they wanted Trump dumped so badly, they were willing to put the entire company at legal risk. Fabulous. A couple of the so-called DANGEROUS violence inciting tweets from Trump.

The entire tweet thread of Michael Shellenberger’s is worth a read. Why? Because it is clear that Twitter employees and key execs at that company ruled the roost. And, at times in the aftermath of Trump’s banning had to twist themselves into preztels to fix accounts that were banned by accident. It looks like Jack Dorsey was essentially phoning it in during the latter part of the Trump term. Which is inexcusable as it was HIS company and HIS responsibility to keep the employees from running amok.

But run amok they did. And now, it’s looking more and more like those employees are reaping the whirlwind of what they sowed.
