Paul Gosar Stands His Ground on Cringy Attack Video

Staff for Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) assembled a video which shows the congressman literally attacking Joe Biden and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The video is based on an anime series called “Attack on Titan,” and the result is really, really amateur. You could say it’s so bad, it’s good — sort of like “Plan 9 From Outer Space.”

I don’t watch anime, although I did see “Spirited Away” some years ago, and I truly enjoyed it. Other than that I know nothing of the genre, but a quick search showed me that “Attack on Titan” is a popular Japanese manga TV series.

Gosar’s staff took the opening credits from the series and added the congressman’s face to the hero, as well as depicting Biden and AOC as monsters. Paul Gosar swoops in with swords to do battle.

It’s quite obvious that nobody on Gosar’s staff has any skills in video animation. Gosar himself deleted it from his Twitter account, but you can still find it. A Democrat defense attorney posted it to his Twitter account, and added that Marjorie Taylor-Greene and Lauren Boebart make appearances as well. If you look really close and don’t blink, you might see them.

Did you miss them? Here they are in screenshots:

Let’s be honest here — that video is so cheesy you wonder how anyone could take it seriously. And perhaps that was the intention: use bizarre humor to point out how Biden & Co. allow illegal migrants to waltz over the border.

But if you ask any Democrat, you’d think that Paul Gosar was seriously planning to assassinate the President and a sitting Congresswoman.

Nancy Pelosi called for law enforcement and the Ethics Committee to investigate, of course. Plus she wants Rep. Kevin McCarthy to condemn, condemn! this “horrific video.”

“Threats of violence against Members of Congress and the President of the United States must not be tolerated. @GOPLeader should join in condemning this horrific video and call on the Ethics Committee and law enforcement to investigate.”

And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded, not only criticizing McCarthy, but also calling Paul Gosar “a creepy member I work with who fundraises for Neo-Nazi groups.” Plus, she threw in a good dollop of white supremacy to make her point:

“White supremacy is for extremely fragile people &sad men like him, whose self concept relies on the myth that he was born superior because deep down he knows he couldn’t open a pickle jar or read a whole book by himself.”

Finally, to cap off the outrage, CNN dug up Paul Gosar’s own sister, who called him a “sociopath” and a traitor.  Meanwhile Alison Camerota listened with pressed lips and rapt attention. You could practically see the steam coming out of Camerota’s ears.

I’m sure Gosar family reunions are a hoot.

But Gosar isn’t backing down. In fact, he issued this tweet:

He also issued a statement, which read:

“The cartoon depicts the symbolic nature of a battle between lawful and unlawful policies and in no way intended to be a targeted attack against Representative Cortez or Mr. Biden. It is a symbolic cartoon. It is not real life. Congressman Gosar cannot fly. The hero of the cartoon goes after the monster, the policy monster of open borders.”

Got that, AOC? Paul Gosar cannot fly. So simmer down, cupcake, he’s not coming after you.

But I wonder where Democrat outrage was a few years ago, when celebrities literally threatened President Donald Trump?

Like when Robert De Niro, who channeled his tough guy movie roles and said he wanted to punch Trump in the face:

Or when Johnny Depp wondered about that time when an actor assassinated a President. And that maybe it was time to do it again:

Where were Democrat demands for an Ethics Committee to investigate the entertainment community? You know that didn’t happen. You also know that a lot of them snickered about this at their cocktail parties.

Yes, that video from Paul Gosar’s office is absurd, but so is the reaction by Democrats. And good on the Congressman for not backing down and apologizing for it, either. What’s more, he’s trying to defend his constituents from illegal migrants swarming the border of his beloved Arizona, and if it takes a campy anime video to make his point, so much the better.

  • Actually, not bad on the production values.

I would make one comment to AOC – I think that Paul at least knows what that growly thingie in his kitchen is.

And to Pelosi – I’ve seen Paul visiting a Baskin-Robbins; he apparently doesn’t have a couple of $40K freezers to keep any on hand.

  • GWB says:

    who fundraises for Neo-Nazi groups
Can you prove that? Because that sounds like slander.

because deep down he knows he couldn’t open a pickle jar or read a whole book by himself.
OK, that’s actually a pretty good shot. She must be actually re-reading Trump’s old tweets.

own sister, who called him a “sociopath” and a traitor
And whose sister would NOT describe someone thusly? Heck, that’s the function of sisters in the circle of life.

In fact, he issued this tweet
*facepalm* He could have at least corrected the spelling in that meme. (It’s “your”. not “you’re”.) I know it’s a meme, but that’s the sort of thing that just grates on me.

    Congressman Gosar cannot fly.
All the secret identities claim that. Then they put on a cape, and zoooom….

So simmer down, cupcake, he’s not coming after you.
Well, he actually is. But not with a sword. Other than the metaphorical sword of law and the metaphorical rubber sword of satire.

This is exactly the sort of thing we need to see in our politics. Especially when it allows us to showcase the so often “REEEEE!!!” and “That’s not funny!” response of America’s opponents.

It’s more for delicate little liberals like you who need a boogeyman to explain why you aren’t that bright.

“whose self concept relies on the myth that he was born superior”

Oh, sweetie; white people being superior is the core of CRT that you and your people support.

“because deep down he knows he couldn’t open a pickle jar or read a whole book by himself.”

You need to be reminded of moments like this every single time one of you liberals yap about “civility.”
