They claimed they would refuse to shake hands. They dressed in white. They sat silently. They did not applaud. They booed loudly and laughed at the mention of “draining the swamp” (of which they are very much a part).
Even this from President Trump in his opening lines…
Tonight, as we mark the conclusion of our celebration of Black History Month, we are reminded of our Nation’s path toward civil rights and the work that still remains. Recent threats targeting Jewish Community Centers and vandalism of Jewish cemeteries, as well as last week’s shooting in Kansas City, remind us that while we may be a Nation divided on policies, we are a country that stands united in condemning hate and evil in all its forms.
Were met with this:
And, in the Twitterverse, their lack of response did not go unnoticed:
Dems didn't stand while Trump acknowledged
but Trump's the bigot🙄#JointAddress

Dems are sitting there like a bunch of stiffs! The most pathetic childish display I've ever witnessed. pic.twitter.com/MZYlh148b5

With all this pro-American policy offered and the Dems remaining seated… I'm not angry.. I feel vindicated at their vitriol #JointAddress

The renewal of the American Spirit? They sat that one out. They didn’t stand for a fair shot for our children or improvements in the labor force. Nor did they stand at the concept of keeping promises to the American people. They didn’t stand for the families of victims killed by illegals and no, Debbie Wasserman Shultz, donned in white of course, did not even stand when Trump payed tribute to Navy Seal widow, Carryn Owens! Twitchy even reported that the “ladies in white” gave the President the thumbs down on replacing Obamacare.
According to Dems, Trump is the bully. He is the petulant little brat. Why, oh why, would a true American not stand and applaud some of the statements made by Trump at the address last night? Simply because they came from Trump. Not Obama. Not Hillary. And, they are still butt hurt about November 2016. Here’s a few they could chew on from the ol’ Pantsuit Queen herself:
What we have to do… is to find a way to celebrate our diversity and debate our differences without fracturing our communities.- Hillary Clinton
Because their silly little protest last night translates to more protests and riots out on the streets and at college campuses. More race-baiting, more media-churning. But alas, those things don’t fracture communities, do they? These “protests” are legit in their eyes in the name of The Resistance! (Yes, my eyes are rolling up into my brain right now). I’m serious, though. Hillary said so herself!
And another from Hill’s Greatest Hits:
Let’s continue to stand up for those who are vulnerable to being left out or marginalized.- Hillary Clinton
…Unless, of course, if anyone from the opposite political party and/or a President YOU did not want in office makes reference to those who are marginalized and left out and expresses a desire solve this problem. Then, you sit and make faces like Nancy Pelosi:
Yes, Dems…you are soooooo virtuous in your desire to take down the “Nazi”, the “Fascist”, the “Bigot”, the “Womanizer” that you sit while everyone applauds a fallen Navy Seal’s wife?!
The worst thing that can happen in a democracy – as well as in an individual’s life – is to become cynical about the future and lose hope.- Hillary Clinton
The irony is, sitting did not give them the dignified presence they desired to display in the midst of the President (or as they like to call him on any given day “bigoted-racist-sexist pig-fascist-Nazi” they did not want in office). It only went on to illustrate the sheer pettiness and immaturity of being a bunch of sore losers. S-O-R-E L-O-S-E-R-S. Yep. I spelled it out. So go ahead, smug, cynical and hopeless Dems. Continue to sit down at future events. Because maturity rules and like, #SquadGoals.
