Get your popcorn and beverage of choice ready. Life in the DC bubble just got REALLY interesting according to this report from the Wall Street Journal:
Mike Flynn, President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, has told the Federal Bureau of Investigation and congressional officials investigating the Trump campaign’s potential ties to Russia that he is willing to be interviewed in exchange for a grant of immunity from prosecution, according to officials with knowledge of the matter.
As an adviser to Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign, and later one of Mr. Trump’s top aides in the White House, Mr. Flynn was privy to some of the most sensitive foreign-policy deliberations of the new administration and was directly involved in discussions about the possible lifting of sanctions on Russia imposed by the Obama administration.
He has made the offer to the FBI and the House and Senate intelligence committees through his lawyer but has so far found no takers, the officials said.
And the media plus crowd goes wild! Just look at these headlines from key media outlets across the country.
Then there is this breathless reaction from the evening news:

Twitter certainly had its own take on the matter:

Then there was this statement from Flynn’s attorney:
“General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit,” Mr. Kelner said.
“Should circumstances permit?” Interesting way to put it. Especially when the article in the WSJ does point out that they didn’t get any comments from the FBI or either of the intelligence committees. Which leads us to THIS problem via ABC News:
BREAKING: Spokespeople for both Rs and Ds on House Intel Committee disagree with @WSJ rpt, sying Flynn did NOT offer testimony for immunity.

Here’s the thing. Did Flynn have one of the shortest tenures on record as National Security Advisor? Yes. Did Flynn give speeches to Russia and receive money from them for those speeches? Yes.
Did someone break some significant laws with their wiretapping of conversations and then throwing Flynn under the bus? Absolutely.
Has Mike Flynn long been an advocate for accepting that terrorism is real and we can no longer hide our heads in the sand? Most definitely.
Was Flynn asked or ordered to testify to the FBI and Intelligence committees but would only do so if immunity was granted? Right now it’s a toss up as to what is true. However, no matter which way we slice it, the optics aren’t good.
Flynn Jr and Flynn Sr were a danger to the deep state ergo his destruction via malicious lies and wiretapping.
