Black Friday Gun Checks Skyrocket, Piers Morgan Has A Meltdown [VIDEO]

Typically Black Friday news is filled with the idiots on parade who get into fistfights and wreck stores all because they want that ONE stupid item. However, this year Black Friday is ALSO about a significant number of folks going out and purchasing guns because 2nd Amendment!

The FBI was flooded Friday with more than 200,000 background check requests for gun purchases, setting a new single day record, the bureau reported Saturday.

In all, the FBI fielded 203,086 requests on Black Friday, up from the previous single-day highs of 185,713 last year and 185,345 in 2015. The two previous records also were recorded on Black Friday.

As the article notes, it is likely that more than 200,000 guns were purchased via FEDERALLY licensed gun dealers, as gun checks are not an indicator of the actual number of guns purchased.

Some folks, of course, love them some statistics. This is an interesting one for sure.

However, if the numbers even somewhat accurately capture the number of firearms sold, Americans purchased enough guns to arm every member of the approximately 182,000 active duty US Marines.

Meanwhile, once the news of this latest record broke, Piers Morgan had a meltdown. Keep in mind two things.

A. He’s British

B. He truly doesn’t understand our Constitution and specifically refuses to understand what the 2nd Amendment really means.

This clash with John Lott is a prime example:

And well.. there’s this justification from Piers as he gets pretty much everything regarding current gun laws and what actual weaponry does WRONG.

So yes, he had a meltdown.

Hey Piers? Guess what? Your lovely little narrative CONVENIENTLY forgets two things.

  • ALL of the weapons purchased by Las Vegas shooter were LEGAL purchases
  • Sutherland Springs Baptist Church shooter should’ve failed NICS checks

Piers, you should be yelling at the MGM for not catching that something was squirrelly with the Vegas shooter. But no. GUNZ is BAD! is your mantra.

As for the Texas shooter? Why the hell isn’t Piers yelling about the Air Force stupidly not putting the killer into NICS? Why isn’t Piers yelling about the fact that all branches of the military are SUPPOSED to submit to NICS but haven’t been?

Yeah. Easy answer is this, Piers has decided that it is ALWAYS the gun’s fault. Never the shooter’s fault.

So guess what Piers? This is why we buy guns.

And Piers? Let’s chop another big hole in your narrative shall we?

Yes, that is correct. The number of gun owners never ever EVER committing a crime is a far greater number than the outliers such as the Vegas or Texas shooters. Like its an eleventy billion to one difference. But yeah, that doesn’t fit your tidy little narrative now does it?

Sadly, he lives in a country that used to fight back without checking if it was politically correct to do so. Sadly, World War II was a long time ago. Now it’s wear heels or don nail polish to show solidarity.

Or take the rest of the guns out of law abiding owners’ hands because you know, that will just make those machete/knife wielding and van driving terrorists stand down right? Yeah. NO.

Piers, you’ll probably use this as another reason to scream GUNZ are BAD! for the umpteenth time.

A man who brandished a gun as he entered a busy Costco Wholesale store Sunday in Lenexa was shot and killed by an off-duty law enforcement officer shopping at the store, according to Lenexa police.

Piers, I know you want us all to forget that the Texas shooter and that guy in Lenexa were stopped by a GOOD GUY WITH A GUN! But we know better. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why well over 200,000 Americans practiced their Constitutional right to purchase and therefore Keep and Bear Arms on Friday.

Morgan is as uninformed and hypocritical as the rest on the left.
Check it out. Over the last ten years, there have been about 325 fatalities from mass murders. During that same time period, there have been over 150,000 murder victims of which 48% were black, 93% of which were murdered by other blacks. So which does the left focus on? The two tenths of one percent murdered and how to disarm the law abiding populace. All the big cities are run by dems, have the strictest gun control, and account for the majority of gun violence and crime. If the dems “common sense gun control laws” are so good why are they allowing their citizens to be slaughtered. A weekend in Chicago kills and wounds more civilians than most all of the mass murders incidents.

Can’t blame Piers too much. I would have a meltdown too after seeing the accompanying photo of a woman with her booger-hook on the trigger while checking a gun out. Jaysus.

…And the first person to say the gun wasn’t loaded gets slapped across the back of their head…

    • Clean Willie says:

Perhaps she was pointing it where she knew it was safe and she was dry firing to get a feel for the trigger pull? Just a thought.

    • GWB says:

Sorry, but when you’re checking out a firearm in the store you have to put your finger on the trigger. How else are you going to test the pull? The guy behind the counter ensures (or should) you’re pointing it in a safe direction, and that it’s unloaded.
Safety first is fine. But imposing that rule on test-handling a firearm is silly.

  • Romey says:

    Piers Morgan IS a meltdown!

    • Romey says:

She may have considered a purchase, and, after asking, was dry firing. I’ve done that many times.

      • Ding says:

It’s a 1911. It’s not cocked, so it won’t dry fire. Unless she already did, which is a possibility. My question is, who taught her to lean back like that & why?

        • Mike says:

She’s left eye dominant (she closed her right eye) but holding right handed. It changes the focal length so you compensate by leaning your head back. Also happens when foot stance isn’t solid so you lean your head back to counter the weight of the gun extending out. She needs to shift to shooting left handed as a recommendation, but she definitely needs to be taught a better stance.

  • Jim Lee says:

    1. Peirs Morgan is an idiot.
    2. Machine guns are not banned in the US.

    • Heresolong says:

Machine guns may not be banned but it takes a pretty serious government investigation to get a Class 3 license, and then when you do, many of those guns can cost well north of $30,000 because they are so rare.

      • Penrod says:

Without our revered federal government’s refusal to submit to the US Constitution, specifically the 2nd Amendment, good quality select fire weapons would be no more expensive than semi-auto AKs and ARs.

    • Jack says:

I too am left-eyed and right handed, but I have always practiced (and shot) left hand / right hand only and left hand right support and right hand left support. One should always be ready to fire in any manner needed. I like the smile on her face.

  • Bill G says:

Mr. Morgan seems to want to revise Churchill’s speech to:
we shall hashtag on the beaches,
we shall hashtag on the landing grounds,
we shall hashtag in the fields and in the streets,
I don’t think it will be very effective.

    • GWB says:

I don’t think it will be very effective.

What?!? How can you say that?! After all, #BringBackOurGirls got Boko Harum to release all those girls in Africa didn’t it?

  • TRX says:

    > Why the hell isn’t Piers yelling about the Air Force stupidly not putting the killer into NICS?

And what difference would it have made if they had?

All Idiot Boy had to do was take out an ad in the paper, or walk up to someone at a range and say, “Hey, what’cha want for that?” and make a perfectly lawful face-to-face purchase. It might have taken him, oh, HOURS longer than buying at a store. Or maybe not.

NICS is only involved if you’re buying from a Federally licensed FFL or live in one of the handful of people’s republic states which require all transfers to go through an FFL. For the vast majority of Americans – including those in Texas – buying a gun simply involves finding a seller and making a deal, same as buying a used lawnmower or furniture.

A whole lot of people seem to have the idea you can only buy a gun after approval from NICS. That’s not how it works.

    • Nina says:

Well, first of all, the Air Force is supposed to submit information to NICS. But they haven’t.

Secondly, idiot boy actually purchased his weapons from federally licensed dealers in Colorado and Texas.

Sure, idiot boy could take out an ad. But that’s not the point here. Point is, idiot was able to buy from licensed dealers because AF didn’t do their job and submit the convictions regarding him to NICS.

      Thanks!

    • GWB says:

Well, considering the number of people who buy privately versus through an FFL is small, it would at least have slowed him down looking for a seller. And made him work for it, instead of simply walking in and out.
Also, if he had tried and been turned down, it would have shown up as a flag (not that our gov’t over the last couple of decades would have actually done anything about it) in the system.

  • Flying Dutchman says:

    “Guns are bad, mmmkay?”

Actually, you could say simply “XYZ are bad, mmmkay?”, where “XYZ” = whatever these statist crapweasels happen not to like. Sheesh, these people are so predictable….

  • T. Hazlewood says:

Europeans are ONLY entitled to possess arms for the purpose of saving their present government. At that point, it’s akin to a Holy Crusade.

At any other time, they are advised (in England, really!) to simply hide from intruders. You know, like when the Vikings come and you put your children in the corn bin, or rush to the ‘safety’ of the monastery to pray to be delivered.

In Europe, only dangers to the State require a strong response. For the peasants? Well, who’s going to hear them, anyway?.

  • Dana says:

The esteemed Mr Morgan seems to have forgotten what Americans have not: in his attempts to keep Americans subjugated, the Royal Governor of Massachusetts, General Thomas Gage, ordered the confiscation of all firearms and gunpowder in Boston.

The British always want to confiscate guns, to keep the people subjugated.

  • MiddleAmerican says:

His reaction is logical. When you’ve spent your entire adult life being a complete douchebag to basically everyone, anyone owning a gun is scary.

  • 40S&W for me says:

Ol Piers, the pompous arse from the UK still thinks he can disarm the US. Pee off a lib and buy your favorite conservative a firearm for Christmas ! Merry Christmas everyone and God Bless !
