Whoopi Goldberg decided to whine about a bakery supposedly not serving her because of her political views. Evidently they weren’t going to bake the cake,  because she’s just too darned liberal.

The birthday dessert brouhaha started with Whoopi whining about how this bakery just made one excuse after another as to why they wouldn’t bake the cakes! 

A sweet moment soured.

Whoopi Goldberg has claimed an NYC bakery refused to serve her because of her political beliefs — and the 145-year-old eatery has fired back.

On Wednesday’s episode of “The View,” Goldberg and co-hosts Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Joy Behar and Sara Haines took a moment to celebrate her 69th birthday.

To mark the special occasion, the ladies indulged in some Charlotte Russe desserts, a New York specialty that the “Ghost” actress said were her mom’s favorite growing up.

But the sweet moment didn’t last, as Goldberg claimed that the bakery, which she chose not to name, declined to take her order due to her left-leaning political views.

Hold up here. Whoopi is claiming that the bakery wouldn’t serve her, but… she ended up with her special Charlotte Russe desserts anyway? None of this was passing the smell test. Quite frankly it started reeking of Jussie Smollett among others.

Guess what folks, she lied like a freaking rug. First of all, she didn’t call the bakery herself. Secondly, if the order was refused because her political views, then that staffer also lied like a freaking rug. Third, the order – placed a little over two weeks prior – ended up getting fulfilled. 

But what has happened next is literally a thing of beauty. People were NOT going to stand by and let Whoopi diss the bakery and owners on national television. 

Customers, many of whom are generational given Holterman’s has been in business for 145 years are NOT happy with Whoopi.

“I think it’s ridiculous. Why would she come all the way to Staten Island for her cupcake? To make an issue? They’ve been here forever,” Deborah Bernaz, 68, said of the comic’s claims against the beloved 145-year-old Holtermann’s Bakery on Staten Island.

“I don’t think it has anything to do with politics. They’re a little Staten Island bakery. I think it’s bulls–t what she’s saying. Leave politics out of the bakery,”

Except that Whoopi and the rest of The View harpies are so damned butt hurt over a second Trump win, that they’ve gone WAY off the rails. Good grief, Whoopie even claimed she is essentially living paycheck to paycheck like so many across the U.S. Only one problem:

Goldberg’s net worth has been reported at around $60 million. In 2016, Variety reported her annual salary from “The View” was between $5 million and $6 million, placing her comfortably among the top 0.1% of US wage earners.

As I said above, long time customers and folks in the area, along with many from across the U.S. were NOT happy with Whoopi pulling a ‘bake the cake!’ stance against Holterman’s Bakery. And they made themselves very clear.

This is a bakery that has been operating in that same building since 1878. It’s in Staten Island and the folks there take care of their own. 

Whoopi tried to imply that Holterman’s Bakery refused to bake the cake, and now has all the rakes whapping her upside the head.

Now, in the wake of Goldberg’s disparaging remarks, owner Jill Holtermann said they’ve been flooded with orders from across the country.

“I really am overwhelmed,” Holtermann told The Post. “I’m so happy to have the support. Just to have people come out and talk and build up my business.”

The owner said she’s had people calling up from as far as Alabama and Tennessee so they can donate orders of baked goods to nearby schools and first responders in a bid to drum up business.

Quite honestly, that is poetic justice. Whoopi tried to throw a 145 year old bakery under the bus. Who benefitted from her stepping on all the rakes? Holterman’s Bakery along with schools and first responders.
