The governors have been abandoned by Trump! This is according to our media betters at the New York Times.
“Hours earlier, Mr. Trump told a group of governors that they should not wait for the federal government to fill the growing demand for respirators needed to help people diagnosed with coronavirus.
“Respirators, ventilators, all of the equipment — try getting it yourselves,” Mr. Trump told the governors during the conference call, a recording of which was shared with The New York Times.
The suggestion surprised some of the governors, who have been scrambling to contain the outbreak and looking to the federal government for help with equipment, personnel and financial aid.”
WOW! So by reading that, we are supposed to believe that President Trump essentially hung the governors and states out to dry. At least that is what EVERYONE with the New York Times has been peddling since mid-day yesterday.
Hey Governor! You’re on your own! Sucks to be you! That is what four, count them, FOUR New York Times journalists immediately and gleefully started peddling this disinformation over social media.
Trump told governors this morning they are on their own:

Yes, those tweets are still up. And yes, I’m sure they are THRILLED with the massive freakout those “journalist” slimes have caused with this story. Rightfully so, people who are rational thinkers are calling them out on their crap.
The full quote includes this bit.
“We will be backing you, but try getting it yourselves. Point of sales, much better, much more direct if you can get it yourself.”
This is a really frustrating time to be a news consumer. https://t.co/suQDeUdNEJ

Makes quite a difference doesn’t it? President Trump makes a sound business statement and the Trump-hating media declares ‘this shall not stand!’ and spins it to mean that the President is abandoning the states.
Guess what New York Times and all the rest of the Never Trump hacks out there, what the President actually said is correct and on point!
If a state has a DIRECT line to a manufacturer of medical equipment and supplies, the President gave them the authority to deal with them directly instead of wading through the morass called the federal government. By going direct, this will save much needed time in getting orders in and supplies/equipment delivered where it is needed. The sooner this can happen, the sooner we can get a handle on this and get businesses back up and running.
We don’t have TIME to waste navigating 18 fricken layers of crappy bureaucracy to finally get an “ok, yes you can order this,” or an “ok, yes your request is granted and we’ll ship it to you…someday.”
Forget that crap. Go direct to save time. THAT is what President Trump said.
Other than your bias, why not include the next two sentences: "We will be backing you, but try getting it yourselves. Point of sales, much better, much more direct if you can get it yourself.”

The answer is, they didn’t want to include that because
A. That would mean they would have to do actual objective journalism
B. Reporting the facts would mean that Trump looks good and for damned sure we can’t have that happen!
There was a great deal of information conveyed in yesterday’s press conference.
Including this, that the NY Times buries deep in their report.
“At the briefing with the president, Dr. Fauci said the first phase of testing of a possible vaccine had begun on Monday. He stressed that some of the White House guidelines were inconvenient, but that they would help stop the spread of the virus and were not an overreaction.”
Testing of a possible vaccine is GREAT NEWS! But don’t tell the NY Times that as they will somehow try to spin another ORANGEMANBAD! story out of it.
Meanwhile, Trump is a businessman. He is well aware of what is and will happened to our economy as everything is closing down to foot traffic. An $850 billion business stimulus package has, as of this morning, been proposed by the White House.
“Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will present details to Senate Republicans later Tuesday. The package would be mostly devoted to flooding the economy with cash, through a payroll tax cut or other mechanism, two of the officials said, with some $50 billion directed specifically to helping the airline industry.
White House officials also want to include more assistance for small businesses and their employees in the legislation, the officials said. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. The talks have taken on more urgency as the economy has shown signs of careening into recession. The Dow Jones industrial average fell almost 3,000 points on Monday and showed signs of a slight rebound on Tuesday.”
We are in a national emergency. Yet too many of our media slimes don’t care about that. All they care about is their continued 24/7 dunking on President Trump. The health, welfare, and sanity of their readers is the very last thing on their minds, and stories like this are a prime example.

That’s just sick. That so many did the same thing meant it was as choreographed as any ballet. And we’re in the middle of a pandemic and they waste their time on TSD? Pathetic.
The media dances to the music but the NYT waves the conductor’s baton.
Trump is obviously evil, because he expects Governors to govern? Governors, YOU are in charge of your state, the feds have said they will back your play. Now stop sniveling, stand up straight, and do your damn job.
I thoroughly endorse this post. ONE criticism, though, you forgot to add a gas can in the reporter’s other hand.
