I’ll just bluntly say this, no holds barred: If you’re a Donald Trump supporter, you’re keeping company with some of the scummiest people to ever hurl invectives from behind a laptop.
Fox News contributor Mary Katharine Ham, whose husband Jake Brewer, as you may remember, was killed in a biking accident just last fall, wrote an admiring article for The Federalist on Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump’s talented and lovely eldest daughter. It was entitled “Ivanka Trump Is Everything Donald Wants To Be But Is Not,” and featured a beautiful picture of Ivanka in the header.
So Mary Katharine Ham linked it to her Twitter account, Ivanka photo and all.

The tweet roused the ire of Donald Trump’s bottom-dwelling Brown Shirts, who took to their computers to viciously fire off some sadistic responses to the recently widowed Mary Katharine Ham.

Some of these brain trusts also accused her of being one of Ted Cruz’s alleged “mistresses.”

What did Mary Katharine Ham do that brought the venom of these social media snakes? Oh, she dared to make a fair criticism of Donald Trump by comparing his braggadocio to the poise and sophistication shown by his daughter. Moreover, the article featured no ad hominem attacks on Donald Trump, but focused mainly on Ivanka.
That’s a bridge too far for the Trump cultists, who probably hadn’t even read the article about Ivanka. If they sense even a whiff of criticism for their Dear Leader, out come their virtual pitchforks. No attack is too brazen or too lowdown to hurl at a target of the Trump Rage Brigade.
Oh, I can hear it now: “Donald Trump never told them to write this!” Right. Just like “Donald never incited anyone to violence at his rallies!” And then there’s this comment I’ve seen at our blog and others: “I’m not a Trump supporter but. . .” Lousy excuses, one and all. Trump has provoked the primitive rage of his mind-numbed followers, and has no qualms about inciting his thugocracy.
Do you support Donald Trump? Then you are aligned with this dreck. Remember the old adage about being judged by the company you keep? That’s some pretty foul company. You need to re-gauge your moral compass.
If these braindead goons think that this is how to “Make America Great Again,” then count me out, along with millions of others who are more determined than ever to keep the Orange-Hued Bully from occupying the White House.

Let’s be careful with the ad hominems, ourselves. Yes, he attracts nasty people, it seems.
But, there’s more than enough of what he, himself, is doing and saying that you can focus on, imho.
I would rather say “Don’t you think there might be a problem with your candidate, when he seems to engender so much idiotic vitriol toward others?” than “Look at the company you keep.”
I don’t know if anyone has noticed but it hàs long been apparent that political thuggery has no politically boundaries. In sheer numbers, ignorance, slime and depravity the Trump deplorables are no match for the scum that populate the current political left.
