Tuesday night saw Donald Trump rack up wins across several more states during the the 2016 Presidential campaign carnival. While grandstanding about his YUUUUGE wins, Trump said this:
“I think we’ll win before getting to the convention, but I can tell you, if we didn’t and if we’re 20 votes short or if we’re 100 short and we’re at 1,100 and somebody else is at 500 or 400 cause we’re way ahead of everybody, I don’t think you can say that we don’t get it automatically,” Trump said on CNN on Wednesday. “I think you’d have riots.”
“I wouldn’t lead it, but I think bad things would happen,” Trump said, adding the outcome would “disenfranchise” his supporters.
Think about that for a minute will you? The Presidency is the highest office in the land with over 200 years of respect, honor, and dignity afforded it. Yet Presidential candidate Donald Trump informs us that if he doesn’t get his way, his supporters will do bad things. Sure, he did say that he wouldn’t be the leader of those bad things. But what was he left out is that he won’t stand in their way. In other words, he gave his tacit approval to all the Trumpbots out there to do whatever they want in order to get the convention to go the Trump direction….including inciting or participating in riots.
Think I’m wrong? Take a gander at what Trump fangirl Scottie Nell Hughes had to say to Wolf Blitzer yesterday:
While you attempt to wrap your head around what she just said, lets go to the dictionary shall we? We find that Riot means this:
a noisy, violent public disorder caused by a group or crowd of persons, as by a crowd protesting against another group, a government policy, etc., in the streets.
The operative word there is VIOLENT. Yet, Scottie is just SURE that riots are cool and if a large group of people get’s angry its ok because …riots are positive or something.
On @CNN @realDonaldTrump spox explains there are 2 kinds of riots. Really nice riots, and bad riots.

Under what scenario exactly are riots not "necessarily a bad thing"? Just wondering… https://t.co/wMfklE09ez

In the realm of not so bad, check with Baltimore’s Mayor. She might have an updated version of the “safe spaces to destroy things” manual they can borrow.
Trump will bring her up onstage for his next victory speech and tell her “good job” https://t.co/d9QI5vqywQ

Likely so given that this is a guy who has made hay out of the fist fights at previous campaign events, and who would rather blame others for the actions of rioters that shut down a campaign rally of his in Chicago. This is also the guy who who thinks the Chinese government did a good thing in 1989 during the Tiananmen Square protests.
The real reason for the protests in Tiananmen Square? The citizens wanted democracy from a government that had no interest in providing it. They wanted the very freedoms we enjoy under our Constitution and the ability to have control over their own industry. The Chinese government instead ordered the military to fire directly into the crowd of the unarmed students, killing well over 300 or more and arresting thousands. The world leaders including Mikhail Gorbachev were shocked and angered by the brutal actions of the Chinese government. The U.S. voted overwhelmingly to impose economic sanctions as part of their protest against China’s horrendous human rights violations.
But never mind! Fangirl Scottie thinks that riots like this in Ferguson
Or this in Baltimore
Aren’t all that bad…Yeah. No.
Scottie, people who start riots are looking for and wanting a fight. Those who throw the first punch, swing the first bat, smash something, or set fire to a car or building aren’t and WON’T be there to make sure their voices are heard. Scottie m’dear, just so we are clear, those who protest are called Conservatives. Those who RIOT are called liberals and anarchists. There is a YUUUGE difference.
