Texas Democrats have filed a lawsuit against Governor Greg Abbott saying he took away their rights and has caused them “much anxiety and distress.”

Twenty-two Texas House Democrats sued some of the state’s top Republican leaders in federal court in Austin late Friday, alleging that GOP officials’ efforts to bring them home for a special legislative session infringed on their constitutional rights to free speech and to petition the government for redress of grievances.

Are you laughing? I sure am! Dear Texas Democrats, please point out specific instances in which your 1st Amendment right to free speech was shut down by Governor Abbott? Oh wait, you can’t? Huh, how about that? 

Oh, but there’s much more to this laughingstock of a lawsuit. 

Two of the plaintiffs listed in said lawsuit, Shawn Thierry and Nicole Collier, issued statements to the press unequivocally stating that they were NOT part of the lawsuit and want nothing to do with it! Oopsie.

Does this lawsuit mean the Texas Democrats will show up at the state capitol to DO THEIR JOB? Nope. 

Democrat Jasmine Crockett, one of the state representatives remaining in Washington, said she would be disappointed if enough of her colleagues returned to give Republicans a quorum next week. She said their group is not “naive” and knows they don’t have the votes to permanently hold off passage of a bill in Texas, but are still hoping for movement in Congress.

“I’m not giving up on anything. I’m not going home until the fat lady sings,” Crockett said.

Honey, you’re going to be in DC for a good long while then. Maybe you too should figure out how to launder your unmentionables in the hotel sink and post photos to Twitter and Instagram? 

Keep in mind, these are the Democrats who had to show ID to get through the airports in order to board their chartered jet and zip off to Washington D.C. Keep in mind, these are the same Democrats who had to show ID to verify their hotel reservations in order to be provided their room keys. Wanna bet they ALSO had to show ID in order to purchase that beer they took on the plane?

But don’t you dare suggest that an ID must be shown to vote! That’s discriminatory and racist! 

What’s even worse about the Democrats pandering little stunt is that A. Quite a few of the group tested positive for Covid – AFTER they flew to DC and wandered all over the place, and B. Two of the Democrats left DC and went on a sweet vacay in Portugal!

But let’s get back to this idiotic lawsuit, which claims much embarrassment, distress, and anxiety are stemming from the fact that Governor Abbott might arrest them. 

The 22 plaintiffs claim they have been “deprived of liberty for substantial periods of time”, suffered much anxiety and distress over separation from their families, and much discomfort and embarrassment, the complaint filed on Friday, and obtained by the Texas Tribune, alleges.

Oh lordy, bless your whining little hearts. My eyes are rolling so hard right now over this drivel. 

The voting legislation is slated to give Texans MORE access to voting, more days to vote, and would give poll watchers MORE access compared what they currently have. 

As has been evident, none of that matters to the Texas Democrats. Instead they are playing political games and pandering to their base.

The Texas House members suing to avoid the consequences of not showing up to vote are being represented by someone who lost a Texas Democrat primary because he didn't show up to vote.

And this was after he admitted the shooting was illegal and getting two years probation.

He was also suspended for losing a client’s case after he didn’t show up for pre-trial hearings, so I guess he’s perfect for this suit.

I admit it, it took me a good five minutes to stop laughing once I realized that the information regarding Craig Washington was true! 

Guess how much the Texas Democrats claim their actual and punitive damages are? Just guess. No, not hundreds or thousands of dollars. $5 and $10 respectively. 

Yes folks, you read that correctly. 

The Texas Democrats are bitching and moaning about how much “anxiety and distress” has been inflicted upon them over these last few weeks, yet claim a total of $15 in damages. What a pack of fools. 

Guess what kiddies? You’ve brought this upon yourselves. But go right on ahead and keep digging those holes for yourselves, it sure is fun to watch!
