Taylor Swift: Even Woke, Liberal Women Hate Her

Taylor Swift: Even Woke, Liberal Women Hate Her

I really wanted to stay away from the topic of Taylor Swift and her new album until I took a look at this write up whilst sipping on my extra-bold, Cafe du Monde. Turns out, even woke, lefty, liberal women don’t like her.

Self-proclaimed “highly academically educated,” writer and grifter-I mean-“consultant”, Melissa Fabello, another “Doctor” of, well, like nothing, seems to go in for the kill. According to her, “Taylor Swift is racist but not in the way you think she is”. She goes on to explain:

Is Taylor Swift racist? Yes.

Is she actively, explicitly anti-Black? a Trump supporter? pro-eugenics? I doubt it.

But that’s actually what worries me more: that there are so many liberal white women who move through the world never making connections between their whiteness and white supremacy.”-Melissa Fabello

Actually, if we want to throw abortion in on the whole eugenics argument, we could say that Swift (along with most liberal women like Fabello) are pro-eugenics. But, all of the liberal posturing Tay has done in the past is not good enough for Crazy Melissa. Taylor Swift struts her white supremacy on stage-and all the other white, liberal girls eat it up.

Taylor Swift is a white woman whose success relies on cultural narratives of the fragility and purity of white femininity, while practicing zero interrogation into her own whiteness.

And her fans run to her defense whenever that is criticized. ‘But she publicly endorsed Kamala Harris!’ they press, not realizing that this proves the point: Moderate politics dressed up as leftism don’t stand a chance against far-right extremism, a lesson I wish the Democratic Party would learn.”-Melissa Fabello

This privileged, white woman who spends her life in academia and “consulting” (yes, really) is calling another privileged, white woman who did not grow up in the boondocks or wanting for anything, privileged. She says Taylor Swift does not understand how her performances, lyrics and entire persona embody white fragility and femininity. She chastises Taylor Swift because she practices “zero interrogation” into her own whiteness. Damn, I don’t think a whiter thing could have ever been uttered by a liberal, woke, white woman. Seriously. The white girl calling out another white girl for being “too white”. I scratch my head because I really, honestly wonder what black women think of these women?

So. Much. Whiteness. And it’s Taylor Swift who’s portraying this.

More on this…but first, a few words about MAGA:

Are flag-wielding, MAGA-shouting Trump supporters a problem? Yes. They’re horrifying.”-Melissa Fabello

Yep. We’re “horrifying”, alright. Maybe not as horrifying as Taylor Swift’s “Wood” lyrics-a Redwood Tree, not hard to see…

…but horrifying nonetheless. Even more horrifying to Melissa Fabello are the lyrics in Wi$h Li$t, another track on Taylor Swift’s “Life of a Showgirl” album, where Fabello interprets Swift’s desire to “have a simple life and a couple of kids” as more white supremacy:

People were quick to point out that, especially given the cultural climate, expressing a fantasy in which two Aryan-esque rich people populate a neighborhood with blonde-haired, blue-eyed babies is a little… insensitive, at best.”-Melissa Fabello

It’s not a fantasy, Melissa. Swift is actually engaged to be married to Travis Kelce in a cisgender-heteronormative (these people are freaking EXHAUSTING) relationship. Dear God, it’s a dystopian nightmare right out of Nazi Germany! It is very likely that these two very rich people will live in their very-rich (Aryan-esque, she calls it) neighborhood and may have a few blonde-haired, blue-eyed (Aryan-esque-again, HER words) babies who will attend private schools and who will be raised with liberal values (neither Swift or Kielce are Conservative). But God forbid the woman settle down and stop singing bubblegum jilted-girl songs about her exes.

Obviously, Taylor Swift didn’t sit down to write a pro-white (not to mention, deeply cisheteronormative) line here; I don’t think she did, not in the slightest. However, pushing the idea of passing on one’s genes, in the context of whiteness, has history to it – history that the pop star who is often lauded for her genius (“her brain!”) has to be willfully ignorant of for this not to occur to.”-Melissa Fabello

We can’t talk about genes or passing them on, though, I would argue that to discuss genes, genetics and passing them down from one generation to the next for sure takes Taylor out of the pro-eugenics category. Seriously, these people are mind-numbingly ridiculous. Melissa, let’s talk about white, liberal progressives, such as yourself, and genetics and weeding out the unplanned for and the unwanted. I’m sure a white girl like you with a PhD in Gender Studies or whatever bull$hit it was, basically, can do the math on that one. What’s that? You can’t math? Right. Gender Studies major.

But, Taylor Swift, according to Melissa Fabello, does not think about her race at all. She is the average liberal, white woman. Which, read between the lines, makes Fabello, “above average” because she wrote this missive and actually spends her days thinking about this stuff? She’s soooo very smart, after all. She has a PhD.

And her fans then look at her most basic interpretation of activism and advocacy and follow suit, never leaving their liberal bubble to consider the radicalism of the far left.

She’s a mirror.

And in this case, she’s a mirror for what so many of us don’t understand (or even hate) about ourselves: our own whiteness.

And that’s what makes her dangerous.”-Melissa Fabello

Melissa Fabello wants white women to look in the mirror and be as self-loathing as she is. She wants Taylor Swift and her Swifties to reckon with themselves and undergo a major makeover. Gain a couple of hundred pounds, dye their hair blue, cover themselves in tattoos, swear off men and sing about socialism and queer love and, of course, how much they hate Donald Trump. Hell, an album like that would sell like hotcakes, don’t ya think?

For the first time, I am Team Taylor here, which is saying A LOT. There’s a mental asylum bed waiting for Melissa Fabello somewhere. Now, give me another cup of coffee, some sequins and bubblegum and let me move through this world as the heterosexual, white, Conservative, educated, vibrant, daughter, wife, mother, God-fearing, 80s punk/new wave-loving, “dangerous” woman that I am.

Shake it off, Missy.

A very entertaining takedown. As a conservative Caucasian cishetero normie it’s exhausting to have to be constantly on the lookout for the Melissa Fabello types who want to criminalize my mere existence.

    PhD=Piled higher and deeper.

  • Carol Marks says:

I think Melissa just wanted some attention. But what a douche.

  • Richard says:

Not into her music but Taylor Swift as a cultural phenomena can’t be ignored. Literally, as she gets more news coverage than anyone but Trump and not just in the entertainment media. If, as many , both fans and detractors, are speculating, her latest album and upcoming marriage are signaling a change of trajectory, this could be a big deal.

AWFLs like her are the bane of a healthy society. And sorry but if wanting white children to be born make me a “Nazi” then I’m going Mein Fucking Kampf all over her house.
