Our liberty is a precious gift, and our nation is, indeed, exceptional. But as President Ronald Reagan once said,
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

As San Diego, California struggles with homelessness, drug addictions and illegal immigration, the city has decided to crack down on beachside yoga, according to a local instructor . (snip)
The city of San Diego requires businesses to seek a permit and unpermitted activities need to keep to four people or less,
A city spokeshole sniffed that the regulation has been on the books since 1993 and in place to keep the beaches ‘safe and accessible to all users’.
Oh, puhleeze. The requirement for a permit for ‘activities’ for 5 or more people is obviously broken each time more than a couple families decide to spread a beach blanket and the kids toss around a Frisbee. Has SDPD been harassing them with show us your papers permits for the last 30 years? I want to see the paperwork, dudes. And ‘safety’? If anyone is triggered by a few people learning how to down-dog, maybe they should fold up their beach umbrella and stick it go home.

Local government gives in to the criminals.
Oakland has been experiencing high crime and theft, including people stealing copper wires and the city’s infrastructure, according to locals who spoke to CBS News. The city attempted to thwart criminals tampering with its electrical boxes by placing cement barriers over them – to no avail. Now, the city has taken to removing the traffic lights at a busy intersection and replacing them with stop signs.
“It’s just telling us that the city is giving up on us,” said Tam Le, owner of Le’s Auto Body & Engine Repair, nearby the intersection, told CBS News. “If you really want to fix the stop sign, I think you really have to clean up this homeless encampment.”

This is more than just an exercise in woke verbiage, like playing with pronouns or having hissyfits over little-known historical events. This speaks to something deeper. What ‘offender’ v ‘justice-impacted individual’ does is erase agency. The perp isn’t really responsible for the rape, assault, burglary or murder. Getting arrested and convicted isn’t the result of something they did, just something that happened to them.

Manitoba farmer Isaiah Hofer faced an unprecedented challenge this year when his potato harvest yielded an exceptional surplus. With nearly 100,000 bags of potatoes—each weighing 100 pounds—Hofer was left contemplating the unfortunate fate of letting millions of pounds of nutritious food go to waste.
“We had at least almost 100,000 bags of surplus potatoes,” he told CBC Radio. “In potato language, a bag is 100 pounds.”
Happily, there was a non-profit, The Farmlink Project, that heard of this farmer’s dilemma and offered up their services.
By redirecting excess perishable goods from farms, Farmlink has successfully delivered 220 million pounds of fresh produce, equivalent to over 183 million meals, to those in need across the United States and beyond.
Frugality and charity, teaming up again! Bravo!

THEN you’ll have to vote out the leftists who let this carp happen. But that will require understanding it’s those leftist beliefs that lead to this. And THAT is asking a lot from Californians.

And that is a result of the Progressive belief in therapeutic attitudes about criminality.
