Today, the House of Representatives took up the debate for the Articles of Impeachment against President Donald J. Trump. There was one most notable absence today. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi decided to pull a Nadler and take a powder. Hmmm. Does Nancy know something? Yes. Like Jerry Nadler the day before, Nancy knows that history is going to be harsh on this ugly display of partisan hatred.

Just a couple of hours before Speaker Pelosi’s magical disappearing act, Politico.com posted an article about her roaring back in the age of Donald Trump. The article is subtitled, “The speaker’s return to power and legacy will be linked forever to her battles with the norm-busting president.” If only Politico had waited a few hours to post the article, maybe it would have been titled, “Mewling Pelosi hides under desk as members left to hang.” Or, “Pelosi lights candles and prays as members walk the plank.” From the Politico article:

But at age 79 and in her 17th term in the House, Pelosi has never been better, according to interviews with nearly two dozen Democrats. Her command of legislation, her control over her caucus, her ability to confront a historically hostile president and GOP-run Senate on equal terms are unparalleled. She’s the one person in Washington who can beat Trump at his own game, though she never wanted to play it.

Yeah, right. Then, she did as Jerry Nadler did yesterday. Nadler is home with his ill wife. He left Jamie Raskin to appear before the House Rules Committee. While Speaker Pelosi is handling an emergency re-organization of her sock drawer, she has designated Chief Deputy Whip Diana DeGette (D-CO) to wield the gavel over this historic impeachment. Poor Diana. She must have dropped the spirit stick during Democrat cheer camp.

I am going to get real here and talk about a taboo subject: Money. Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House because of her ability to raise money for the Democrats. That’s all thanks to Mr. Pelosi. Nancy raise $83,000,000.00 during the 2018 election cycle. Paul Pelosi cans tuna in American Somoa and pays starvation wages. He and Nan are a power couple and can shakedown the social climbers for major ducats. If Nancy couldn’t fund raise would she be Speaker? No. So, let’s can the talk about how smart she is. If you don’t dance to Nan’s tune, the filthy lucre dries up.

Maybe, Nancy did have a good excuse for leaving her members out to dry. Maybe it was half-off Botox day or she had to get her dentures refitted. Or, maybe the Trump letter from yesterday rattled her brains so hard, she got a headache. From the Trump letter:

Perhaps most insulting of all is your false display of solemnity. You apparently have so little respect for the American People that you expect them to believe that you are approaching this impeachment somberly, reservedly, and reluctantly. No intelligent person believes what you are saying. Since the moment I won the election, the Democrat Party has been possessed by Impeachment Fever. There is no reticence. This is not a somber affair. You are making a mockery of impeachment and you are scarcely concealing your hatred of me, of the Republican Party, and tens of millions of patriotic Americans.

CNN reported on Nancy’s response last night:

Trump’s letter was “ridiculous” and “really sick”. That’s you, Speaker.

Nancy is going to show up tonight for the vote. She just had some shopping to do today. It must be half-off day for Depends at Costco. I bet the members of her party are going to need some tonight.

Update: Nancy swooped in briefly to address the troops.
