Rand Paul Won’t Take Covid Jab; Outrage Ensues

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul indicated to entrepreneur and radio host John Catsimatidis that he will not be getting any of the available Covid-19 vaccines. He was the first Senator diagnosed with the Covid-19 virus in March of 2020. He questions the need for the vaccine for those who have had the illness. Outrage has ensued.

In real life, Senator Rand Paul is also Doctor Rand Paul. Not Ph.D. E.D. like Doctor Jill Biden. Dr. Paul has his medical degree (M.D.) from Duke University and specializes in ophthalmology. One could surmise from these facts that Paul follows the science. Unlike Congresswoman Cori Bush who is also a nurse, but was faith-healed from Covid-19 by telephone in 30 minutes, Paul believes in facts, science and traditional medicine.

Senator/Dr. Paul has been a hero in the Covid-19 wars. He has criticized Governors over keeping their states in lockdown and has called out Saint Anthony Fauci of the Covidiots for his mask theatrics and lying about the Wuhan Laboratory.

On Catsimatidis radio program, Rand Paul said he wasn’t going to take a Covid-19 jab:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that those who have recovered from COVID-19 get vaccinated because experts are unsure about how long natural immunity lasts.

However, the Kentucky senator told Catsimatidis that until he sees evidence suggesting that immunity from the vaccine is better than natural immunity, he’s not going to get vaccinated.

“Until they show me evidence that people who have already had the infection are dying in large numbers or being hospitalized or getting very sick, I just made my own personal decision that I’m not getting vaccinated because I’ve already had the disease and I have natural immunity,” Paul said.

In the past, people have accepted that reasoning for not getting a vaccine. If one has had the disease, one does not need the vaccine. Right?

Not those who attend the First Apostolic Church of Fauci:

Dear Adam Kizinger, No one cares what you think. Sincerely, 75 million Trump Voters.

Rand Paul has been amazingly consistent, for a politician, in his opinion of vaccines. Six years ago, he stated his support for vaccinations, but also said they should be voluntary:

Being as how Rand Paul was named after Ayn Rand, the mother of the Objectivist Philosophy, that is a very consistent position. Dr. Paul was elected to the Senate during the 2010 Tea Party movement and voluntary vaccination is consistent with that position.

Many of those criticizing Rand Paul are doing it because the “scientists” are saying that the vaccine provides better immunity than natural immunity:

Yes, you should be vaccinated regardless of whether you already had COVID-19. That’s because experts do not yet know how long you are protected from getting sick again after recovering from COVID-19. Even if you have already recovered from COVID-19, it is possible—although rare—that you could be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 again. Learn more about why getting vaccinated is a safer way to build protection than getting infected.

If you were treated for COVID-19 with monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma, you should wait 90 days before getting a COVID-19 vaccine. Talk to your doctor if you are unsure what treatments you received or if you have more questions about getting a COVID-19 vaccine.

Experts are still learning more about how long vaccines protect against COVID-19 in real-world conditions. CDC will keep the public informed as new evidence becomes available.

Wait, what was that last sentence?

Experts are still learning more about how long vaccines protect against COVID-19 in real-world conditions. CDC will keep the public informed as new evidence becomes available.

Oh, great! From station KOMO:

The chief executive officers of both Pfizer and Moderna now say people may need booster shots for the COVID vaccine as early as September.

While many people have just become fully vaccinated with the first run of coronavirus vaccines, already scientists are developing another round, and one of the main reasons is the variants that continue to pop up.

“Right now we have 13 variants in the world that have popped up,” says Suzi Francis, a pharmacy specialist with St. Francis Healthcare.

She says the B.1.617.2 variant first identified in India is now being reported in Texas, while the P-1 variant that first appeared in Brazil has now spread to at least 10 countries.

Look, I get my flu jab every year. I got my first Moderna jab for Covid the end of March. I am not getting the second shot until they know more about this Wuhan Lung Rot and stop lying. I want to know more about gain of function, the Wuhan Lab and Fauci the Demon Liar.

Rand Paul has had Covid-19. I have had the first shot. It may turn out that we do need a booster in September, both of us. But, why put this stuff in our bodies, if we just have to have another shot? Rand Paul is a doctor who believes in objective facts and science. Me, too. Thanks again, Dr. Paul.

Let the Fauci worshipers be outraged.

  • There is mounting evidence that, after a natural recovery from an infection, a vaccination for the same disease can trigger the same inflammatory response that is the direct killer. Much simplified, the immune systems says: “Dammit! Didn’t get that bugger the first time. Welp, guess I’ll have to get out the bigger hammer!!!”

This has been seen with the usual vaccines – although fortunately it is a relatively rare complication. Reports have been trickling in, though, that it is far more common with the mRNA “vaccines.” Best hypothesis right now is because those depend on actually hijacking your cells biochemistry just like a virus does, and is seen by the body as a real resurgence of the infection.

    • GWB says:

I’m betting the same mechanism is in effect with the second shot of the vaccine. Lots of people reporting Winnie The Flu symptoms after the second shot, and I bet the above is the reason. “Dangit, we didn’t get it all the first time!”

    • ROP says:

So does that mean your body turns on itself ? auto immune ? really would like to know

      • Scott says:

Well, The normal flu vaccine has a precaution for those that have had auto-immune diseases in the past. Since this disease is similar to the flu, it would seem reasonable that it would have similar precautions. With the Emergency Use Authorization though, they seem to have taken a short-cut when it comes to these precautions, which is rather concerning IMHO..

  • mer says:

    Logic, common sense.
You have chickenpox as a kid, do they make you get a chickepox vaccine?
Mitch McConnell: is anyone saying he should get a polio vaccine?
It’s common sense: you beat something naturally, don’t get a vaccine. Your body already knows what it needs to do.

    • Hand waggle on that particular example, @mer.

If you’ve had chickenpox, especially as an adult (which I did – ONE year before the vaccine, my eldest brought it home), you should get the shingles vaccine once you turn fifty (as I have).

Those critters can go dormant for a very long time, and then reactivate.

      • Kathy L says:

Your “hand waggle” just made the world a worse place in which to live.

        Thanks for the unnecessary “nuance”.

        • GWB says:

          Huh?
He was pointing out that the chickenpox example wasn’t really true, according to the latest medical research. Believe it or not, but that’s what the research indicates at this point.

          • ROP says:

You go overseas and you have to get boosters for EVERYTHING ! of course these are vaccines’ We need to distinguish the difference.
            not this MRNA stuff

  • F.D.R. in Hell says:

I wonder if Eleanor or I need to get a vaccine? Wait, our veins disappeared many years ago.

Remember the words of Mark Twain: “It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they’ve been fooled.” Such is not the case with the COVID “vaccinated”…it will become self-evident to them in due time.

  • Eric Wilner says:

Er. I think by “traditional medicine” you probably mean modern, evidence-based medicine, no? When I encounter the phrase “traditional medicine”, I think of herbalism, acupuncture, and witch-doctors in face paint and bison hats.
Otherwise, well said. One extra point: given the large number of unofficial reports of nasty immune-system overreactions to the second dose, vaccination after infection might not be the best idea. Administering a dose of antigen (or, rather, a dose of the blueprint for the antigen) to a patient whose immune system is already primed – what could go wrong?

    • GWB says:

witch-doctors in face paint and bison hats
Hey now! Don’t be hatin’ on Shaman Insurrectionists for their sartorial choices!

  • COVID done says:

Rand Paul is just following what we all learned in nursing and medical school as basic immunology: herd immunity = natural immunity + acquired (vaccine) immunity. Because so little of the COVID information from the government has been consistent or correct, I am a bit concerned that the “booster” may have more to do with keeping that sweet vaccine money rolling in as demand decreases than any actual need. I’m with Paul. I’ve had the two shots but not getting a booster until we have more definitive info.

  • Some Guy says:

Senator Paul was not named after Ayn Rand. His given name was Randall, he shortened it when he was in college because his friends called him Rand.

  • GWB says:

also is a selfish prick that doesn’t understand a fucking thing about science
    Wow. SO MUCH projection there.

That’s because experts do not yet know
Does no one else see the irony in “experts don’t know“?

The chief executive officers of both Pfizer and Moderna now say people may need booster shots for the COVID vaccine as early as September.
Hmmmmm, could there be any other reason for them to suggest the need for booster shots, ad infinitum? Like that filthy lucre?

Right now we have 13 variants in the world that have popped up
Several folks have come out and said the current mRNA vaccines should stop all of those variants.

But, why put this stuff in our bodies, if we just have to have another shot?
Well, without exercise, your immune system becomes lazy and loses vigor. So booster shots are necessary to keep it fit and ready to go. The real question is “Why should we put this stuff in our bodies, when the disease just isn’t that bad?” I’m willing to get a booster for diphtheria, if necessary. Rubella, yeah. Measles? Maybe. The flu? No. The Wuhan Flu? No, not really.

Cue the outrage from those who would call me an “anti-vaxxer”. *shrug*
I’ll ponder it when there stops being so much hysteria over it. I’m a contrarian by nature and the experts have made that position much easier to hold with their covidiocy.

  • Dr. Mongo says:

“The chief executive officers of both Pfizer and Moderna now say people may need booster shots for the COVID vaccine as early as September.”

    Come on, man!
How can you people think that Big Pharma 2021 is greedy and selfish and evil?
They aren’t like Big Pharma 2019. Those guys were really bad!
Big Pharma 2019 would lie to you to make more money but Big Pharma 2021 would never do that.

    Trust the GMO vaccine. /s

  • Skunk Bucket says:

I’m in the same situation as the good senator. The “experts” shouldn’t claim that Kung Flu survivors need the supposedly longer lasting protection of the pseudo-vaccine when they don’t even know how long either of them lasts. When they can scientifically prove that the jab will provide a real benefit to me, we can talk.

  • fxconde says:

The survivors of SARS, a similar disease to COVID-19, are going on nearly 20 years with natural immunity. They might want to use that as an example for estimating time!

  • Robin H says:

A little late to this party, but if you’ve been donating convalescent plasma after having survived Covid and you get the vaccine, they won’t let you donate anymore. They said the vaccine eliminates your natural immunity. So natural immunity cells can help the sick but not vaccinated cells. That statement makes me even more sure about not getting the vaccine.

  • ROP says:

Way to go Senator ! Thank you for taking a stand against this hysteria and push to vaxx ( its not a vaccine)
I will take the chance and not take this Hemlock since I have been around others who had the Covid and suffered no ill effects.
    Also
Seriously can someone please tell me why only republicans were infected with the virus?

    • F.D.R. in Hell says:

That was part of Fauci’s original Design Formula incorporated at the Wuhan Lab and derived from the testicles of the Elephas maximus bengalensis.
