The information coming out of this horrific terror attack continues to verify that the terrorist who killed 50 and wounded 53 others at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida early this morning, was a terrorist and a follower of radical Islam. Opinions are flying and unfortunately the many of the uncomfortable facts regarding the terrorist are being ignored.
Just a short while ago, President Obama gave a statement concerning the attack.

With this statement, he again purposefully ignored the elephant in the room. One he’s ignored for far too long.
Flashback to a few months ago from President Obama: "US is not a threat for an ISIS attack."#PrayersForOrlandohttps://t.co/PtMBWEsQwe

Instead he took every opportunity to steer the discussion to gun control and did everything in his power to avoid the true reality – that this was a terrorist attack on Americans. His only mention of terror was to call it an attack of terror that has injured and killed dozens.
"Attacks on any American, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation, is an attack on all of us." – President Obama

That is true. However, we do ourselves a grave disservice and put this country at huge risk by not naming this attack what it is. A terrorist attack.
Unfortunately this isn’t the first time that the President has side-stepped…no he’s run away from calling a spade a spade. Certainly in his statement, he did use the words terror and terrorism.
We are still learning all the facts. This is an open investigation. We’ve reached no definitive judgment on the precise motivations of the killer. The FBI is appropriately investigating this as an act of terrorism. And I’ve directed that we must spare no effort to determine what — if any — inspiration or association this killer may have had with terrorist groups. What is clear is that he was a person filled with hatred.
But there are a few key items he could’ve said given that he’s already had meetings with the FBI and other law enforcement officials in charge of this investigation.
ISIS just took responsibility for terror attack in Orlando. Would someone please notify President Obama.

ISIS is now claiming responsibility for the #Orlando attacks. President Obama is no doubt writing a PR to say that they are wrong! #SMH

He likely was notified, but as with the Paris attacks, as Jenny wrote about here,…he’d rather not say those words.
His pivot to gun control during his statement was flat out WRONG.
A guy on an FBI watch list pledged loyalty to ISIS and killed 50 people, and the president says this illustrates the need for gun control.

He is willfully ignoring the elephant in the room!

He can’t and he won’t. If he did, that would mean he would have to acknowledge that terrorism is real. He would have to admit that ISIS never was a JV team, they’ve always been a full-blown pro team with a winning track record of terror. He would have to acknowledge that his efforts of appeasement, political correctness and empathy diplomacy against terrorism has failed spectacularly and the cost is American lives.
This is indeed a heartbreaking day for ALL Americans. We continue our prayers for the families and friends of those wounded and killed by the terrorist.
