Obama Takes Pot Shots At Trump During Jesse Jackson Eulogy

The Democrats just love turning major funerals into circuses. Obama is one of the worst. Today he decided taking pot shots against President Trump was apropos during his eulogy for Jesse Jackson.

Oh, he at least started with a cute little story about how Jackson inspired him and then ‘kept him on his toes’ while he was a 2-term President.

Former President Barack Obama said Jackson’s presidential runs in the 1980s set the stage for other Black leaders, including his own successful 2009 presidency and reelection.

“The message he sent to a 22-year-old child of a single mother with a funny name, an outsider, was that maybe there wasn’t any place or any room where we didn’t belong,” Obama said to the boisterous crowd of thousands. “He paved the road for so many others to follow.”

The event drew a slew of elected U.S. leaders. Other notable attendees included actor and producer Tyler Perry, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Colombian President Gustavo Petro, and political activist and theologian Cornel West. Detroit Pistons great and Chicago native Isiah Thomas also spoke at the event that lasted five hours.

Five hours??!! Good grief.

But that didn’t stop him from pivoting to politics. He decided a political rant against President Trump and Republicans was necessary.

Without naming Trump directly, Obama criticized the president — describing the current state of leadership in the United States and how Jackson’s commitment to democracy has been tested. Obama argued that it mattered to continue Jackson’s message of hope.

“We are living in a time when it can be hard to hope,” Obama said. “Each day we wake up to some new assault on our democratic institutions, another setback to the idea of the rule of law, an offense to common decency — every day you wake up to — to things you just didn’t think were possible.”

“Each day we’re told by those in high office to fear each other, and to turn on each other, and that some Americans count more than others and that some don’t even count at all,” he said. “Everywhere we see greed and bigotry being celebrated, and bullying and mockery masquerading as strength, we see science and expertise denigrated while ignorance and dishonesty and cruelty and corruption are reaping untold rewards every day — every single day we see that — and it’s hard to hope in those moments. So it may be tempting to get discouraged, to give into cynicism, it may be tempting for some to compromise with power and grab what you can, or even for good people, to even just put your head down and wait for the storm to pass.”

Seriously?? It isn’t Republicans who are sitting on the floor of Congress yelling about KKK and killing people. It isn’t the Republicans who are refusing to stand up for all American citizens. Oh, and it isn’t Republicans who are letting murderers, who happen to be here illegally, go free multiple times …only to murder again. It isn’t Republicans who call for U.S. Supreme Court Justices to “reap the whirlwind” and then act surprised when someone tries to kill one of them.

It isn’t Republicans who are using divisive rhetoric. See Joe Biden’s rancid speech in Philadelphia, Tim Walz’s commentary about ICE operations since last fall, and so many more.

Yet here comes Obama with yet another snooty gaslighting lecture.

He turned a eulogy into a political rant.

He wasn’t the only one who took snide potshots at President Trump and Republicans. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden piled on as well.

Biden’s gonna Biden.

Then there’s Isaiah Thomas.

Isaiah Thomas, the legendary basketball player, noted the all-star row of politicians in the audience, saying there were “five presidents” in attendance.

Then he named them: President Harris, President Hillary Clinton, President Bill Clinton, President Biden, and President Obama.

He was marginally better at basketball, and should stick with that.

Obama and the rest of the Democrats taking potshots at President Trump won’t look in the mirror, and see that THEY are the ones leading the charge on divisiveness in this country. Then again, it’s (D)ifferent when they do it because reasons.
