Of all the disgusting things that our Embarrassment in Chief could have ever said, saying that capitalism and communism are equivalent takes it over the top for me. Perhaps I am a little extra sensitive since this Friday, #BernieSanders invaded the Pacific Northwest spreading his rallying cry of “Free shit WOOHOO!” to the masses of unemployed, frustrated, under skilled and over educated baristas. He even stopped a moment to proclaim that a finch that happened to wander into the Moda Center to perch on his podium-perhaps like his followers seeking a handout-was really a dove asking for World Peace (or was it Whirled Peas??).

Obama has the audacity to compare two ideologies, one with a massive body count, and one that has lifted more people out of poverty in recent history than any other form of governance known to man. In case you are a feminist interpretive dance major, communism is the former and capitalism is the latter.

Obama was smart in one way, he targeted the millennial generation with his comments, probably the only generation since my own (Gen X in case you were wondering) to graduate in a more hostile employment environment, with his comments. From a blog post on PJMedia:

“Obama started out by decrying the “sharp division between left and right, between capitalist and communist or socialist.” The president admitted that it has “been a big debate,” especially in the Americas. He gave specific examples of attacks from both sides: “You’re a Capitalist Yankee dog!” and “You’re some crazy communist who’s going to take away everybody’s property!”Those are interesting intellectual arguments, but I think for your generation, you should be practical, and just choose from what works. You don’t have to worry about whether it neatly fits into socialist theory or capitalist theory, you should just decide what works.”

What works?? Yes, because communism works wonders-if you are looking to sponsor a genocide! Over the years communism as an ideology and as governmental policy has been responsible for the murder of some 94 million people between 1900 and 2000.

People like me, who have been on this earth a little bit longer, have the historical understanding that the nation he was standing in while he uttered these non-sequitur has had an atrocious human rights record for many years. After all, he left out discussing that the Cuban government had rounded up some 2o0 dissidents prior to his arrival on the picturesque island.

He continued to expound on the “progress” of the Cuban government in education as well. He giddily recalled his friendly chat with Raul Castro on the topic.

“I said, look, you’ve made great progress in educating young people: Every child in Cuba gets a basic education — that’s a huge improvement from where it was. Medical care: the life expectancy of Cubans is equivalent to the United States, despite it being a very poor country, because they have access to healthcare. That’s a huge achievement, they should be congratulated.”

Millennials let me explain something to you. When you see #BernieSanders signs on the lawns of $1.5M homes, understand what they are saying to you. “I got mine, and I am kicking down the ladder so that you never get yours!”.

If you vote for the Greatest Nation in the world to fall victim to socialism, you, and your children, will get exactly what you deserve.

We can only pray that your children will wake up and be the next version of the Greatest Generation who gave their all to rid this planet of the scourge that is communism.
