A man who should be charged with double-homicide will walk for one in New York. Why? Because one of the humans killed was an unborn child.
Anthony Hobson, 48, of Queens, was arrested on Friday for the Sunday’s fatal stabbing of Jennifer Irigoyen, 35. Irigoyen was five months pregnant.
“He’s got a knife! He’s going to kill the baby!”
Witnesses heard Irigoyen’s plea for help as she was ripped from her apartment last Sunday night and violently stabbed to death in the stairwell of her building. Before January 22, Anthony Hobson, 48, would be charged with second-degree abortion as well as murder in Sunday’s fatal stabbing of Jennifer Irigoyen. Now, thanks to New York governor, Andrew Cuomo’s new Reproductive Health Act, Hobson walks on the abortion charge, and faces murder charges only for his girlfriend and not the unborn child. Nicely done, Democrats.
Congratulations, New York. The first beneficiary of your “pro-woman” legislation is a man.

Exactly. Thanks to New York’s People v. LaValle (2004), a man who brutally stabs his girlfriend, wife, partner, etcetera in a heated fit gets to live out the rest of his life in a cell, eating his 3 meals a day. He will never face a chair or a lethal injection. Thanks to Andrew Cuomo, there is no justice for this woman or the child she was carrying. Yes, I blame Cuomo and his cronies. What’s next? Men beating their pregnant partners to skip out on 20 years of child support for a mere assault charge and some community service. Don’t think it can’t happen.
As I said in my floor speech, being assaulted (or in this case murdered) and losing your baby is not “a woman’s choice.” It’s been only two weeks and we are already see the first victim of a poorly crafted law https://t.co/NVVYg8Od0l

“It’s bittersweet. There is a bitterness because we shouldn’t be here in the first place. We should not have a federal government that is trying to roll back women’s rights … This administration defies American evolution.”-New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo
Where exactly is here, Cuomo? Because after this incident, we have gone way beyond here. People who value life and see more viable options than abortion are trying to roll back women’s rights by opposing an inhumane practice? Here is where Democrats with a cause care more about saving butterflies from deadly insecticides< than giving a full-term baby a lethal injection to the head? And whose rights did we just roll back on in the case of a pregnant woman who was violently murdered? The murderer, however, has a right to an attorney, a right to a fair trial and a right to live out the rest of his miserable existence with only one murder conviction and not two.
He says it’s bittersweet. There is no sweetness about this, Cuomo. It is bitter to the core. The tragedy of this is some women will see Jennifer Irigoyen’s death as something that did not need to happen but will continue to categorize late-term abortion (RHA) as “heath care”. Cuomo, in promotion of his progressive agenda back in December, claimed we (as a country) were in the midst of a “great social crisis“. I’ll say.
“I believe this progressive, aggressive agenda, although hard, is what FDR would say these troubled times demand. We will show what it means when people in government are guided by their better angels, and we will show what a nation can be at its best … Together we can, together we must, together we will, and FDR will look down and smile on all of us.”-New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo
Was RHA a result of government officials guided by their “better angels”? If so, I would hate to see what ugly demons lie beneath the depths. Cuomo is not the only guilty party here. It is all women who support this legislation. The same women who shout #MeToo and outcry sexual harassment and violence against other women will ignore the fact that an innocent woman who made a choice to carry a child was a victim in a double homicide because it does not mesh with their narrative. And that is enough of a social crisis in and of itself. I have no doubt in my mind that these women are smart enough to perceive this…these New Yorkers will just push it under the carpet while they cheer on their “champions” in white and look up at that lovely glass ceiling of the Javitz Center. Until it comes crashing down, that is.

Except for the littlest women.
But, seriously, how is it a right to kill an unborn child?
At least it’s equal rights. Men can kill unborn babies, too!
(And, yeah, got a problem with a murderer getting anything other than the death penalty.)
There was a case recently of a man who put an abortion drug in his pregnant girlfriend’s tea. I guess that’s perfectly okay now? Too bad it wasn’t in NY, he could have gotten his conviction overturned if he’s still in jail.
This may get me some push-back, but I am glad he as only charged for the mother’s death. I have always found charging the attacker with 2 counts of murder, while allowing late term abortion, as the ultimate in hypocrisy; in effect saying that it is okay for a woman to kill her child but it is wrong for someone to kill the child by harming her.
Either it is wrong to kill the child or it isn’t. It shouldn’t matter who killed the child. Unless there are strong, compelling reasons to end the pregnancy, that child deserves a chance to life.
