While many of us were focused on the GOP Convention goings-on in Cleveland last evening—where some anti-Trump delegates chanted “Roll Call Vote!” after an unsuccessful attempt at forcing a floor vote to unbind the delegates—yet another Islamic terrorist attack quietly happened. This time on a train in Wuerzburg, Germany. The perpetrator? You guessed it: reportedly a 17-year-old Afghan refugee. From the BBC:
Did you catch that? The now-deceased jihadist used an axe. Not an AR-15; not a van full of handguns; not a backpack filled with extra mags and a bulletproof vest, but an axe, leaving nearly two dozen innocents in the hospital, several fighting for their lives. With nary a mention from many in the mainstream media, it reminds us of just how detached and inattentive we’re fast becoming.
Accompanying yesterday’s latest terror attack, Germany has seen a major uptick in sexual assaults on its citizens, one that some label an “epidemic.” Germany’s leaders, however, like our own here at home, have basically buried their heads in the sand, refusing to acknowledge the problem, let alone implement new policies to address it. As reported by the Washington Post earlier this month:

At first, there was complete silence from officials. As rumors spread on social media, police had nothing to say about allegations of mass sexual assaults and other crimes carried out on New Year’s Eve in the German city of Cologne.
It was only days later that officials reported that hundreds of women were victims of assault in Cologne, Hamburg and other German cities.
But numbers that are now emerging are likely to shock a country still coming to terms with what happened in Cologne more than half a year ago. According to a leaked police document, published by Germany’s Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper and broadcasters NDR and WDR, the previous estimates have to be dramatically revised — upward.
Authorities now think that on New Year’s Eve, more than 1,200 women were sexually assaulted in various German cities, including more than 600 in Cologne and about 400 in Hamburg.
More than 2,000 men were allegedly involved, and 120 suspects — about half of them foreign nationals who had only recently arrived in Germany — have been identified.
And that is what rape jihad looks like. It’s just that leaders like Angela Merkel opt not for a rethinking of their ludicrous open-door refugee policies, but rather for a covering-up of the inevitable epidemic they helped foster. The fantasy of multiculturalism, coupled with deadly political correctness, holds such a firm grip on many European nations like Germany that it seems the nation would rather see its own culture forever altered, and its citizens brutalized, than change course and admit its own role in the current state of its nation because of its coddling of radical Islam. No one even dares mention the growing epidemic of child-rapes at the hands of “migrants” at local swimming pools. Have you read about that anywhere? Is it any wonder Britain chose to ditch the union?
Unfortunately, the lack of strong leadership anywhere in the western world promises an increase in “lone-wolf” attacks like those we’ve seen recently. And it’s staring America right in the face.

Meanwhile, seems we fly our flags at half-staff almost weekly these days. We fly them in memory of those murdered at the alter of Islamic extremism. We fly them in honor of police officers murdered by hatred hell-bent on wreaking havoc of its own. But this cannot be our “new normal.” When will we awaken from our drunken stupor and admit that our problem is not guns (which we will never lay down), or cops, or a lack of love for those who want us all dead? No, Barack Obama, François Hollande and Angela Merkel, the problem isn’t a deficit of kumbaya-caroling with jihadists; the problem is radical Islam. And we must treat it like the cancer it us, exterminating it everywhere it hides. Our way of life depends on it. If we don’t, we will become Germany; we will become France. And by then, it’ll be too late to halt the metastisization that promises to obliterate everything in its path. Germany received fare warning; Merkel didn’t listen. The question is: Will we learn from her mistakes? Or will we continue to make our own, following down the path that Europe has lain before us? The consequences couldn’t be more dire, because the answer we choose, the leaders we hire, will determine the very future of our Republic. As Marcus Luttrell so eloquently stated in his inspirational address to the GOP convention last night: “America is the light.” It’s up to us to keep her flame burning.
