Kat Cammack Hooks DHS Secretary Over Border

You have probably never heard of Kat Cammack. She is a Freshman Republican Congresswoman, from the state of Florida. In a House Committee on Homeland Security, she dangled her line into the water, waited until Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas took the bait, and set her hook.

I have no idea whether Kat Cammack has ever gone fishing, but she knows how to set a hook. Cammack is the youngest serving Republican congresswoman and was elected last November. She replaced Ted Yoho and was his Deputy Chief of Staff. She is a sandblaster and has a Masters of Science from the Naval War College in National Defense and Strategic Studies. Her family lost their cattle ranch due to an Obama era mortgage program that ended up helping the banking sector and not homeowners. That sparked her interest in politics. Sorry for her family, but it lucked out for the people of Florida’s 3rd Congressional District.

Kat Cammack’s fish, Alejandro Mayorkas, has some very fishy behavior. In 2015, he was accused of favoritism in his handling of the EB5 visas. And, as Nina told you a couple of weeks ago, Mayorkas like his boss, Joe Biden, blames everything on Donald Trump and won’t say that there is a crisis at the border.

This brings us to today’s committee hearing. Congresswoman Cammack asked Secretary Mayorkas what “FEMA” stood for. When he correctly answered, “Federal Emergency Management Administration,” she exclaimed “Excellent” like a kindergarten teacher so proud of her little student. She just wanted him to say there was an emergency at the border. He wouldn’t do it. Oh, they tussled a bit. And, then things got tense. Here is the video:

These open border thin-skins just have to roll to condescension when they can’t win the battle of wits. You know that Joe Biden and “Circle-back, girl” Jen Psaki go right for condescension. So did Alejandro Mayorkas. Here is how Fox News reported the exchange between Kat Cammack and Mayorkas:
Mayorkas was in the hot seat during a Wednesday House Committee on Homeland Security hearing entitled “The Way Forward on Homeland Security.” Cammack used her time to grill the secretary over the migrant crisis at the border.

“I just want to bring it home a little bit,” said the Florida congresswoman about the border crisis. “See, I’m from a small town out West and the month before I was supposed to graduate high school – which was 2006 – one of my classmates was kidnapped by an illegal who had been deported multiple times.”

“Disrespectful not only to me, but disrespectful to the men and women of the Department of Homeland Security and to all the front-line personnel across this country who dedicate themselves to the safety and security of the American people,” Mayorkas continued.

“I’m sorry that you feel that way,” Cammack fired back. “I’m sure the American people feel very disrespected about the border situation they’re facing right now.”

Hell yeah, we feel disrespected:

Cammack wasn’t casting aspersions on the great men and women of DHS, Border Patrol or any front-line workers. They aren’t and never have been the problem. The problem is the open borders crowd. Mayorkas is just touchy, touchy, touchy. Especially when he gets hooked.

Kat Cammack is only 33 years old. She has got time to grow and season. We’ll just have to make sure she gets the right bait to hook her fishies with.
