Once upon a time, Kari Lake thought Ron DeSantis was the greatest! Not anymore. According to Kari, he was the leader in mandating lockdowns and Covid vaccines!
Former candidate for Arizona Governor and Trump surrogate Kari Lake appeared on a podcast today claiming Florida Governor Ron DeSantis closed beaches and mandated masks and Covid vaccines.
“Let us not forget that DeSantis also shut the beaches down,” said Lake, who lost her bid for Governor against Democrat Katie Hobbs in 2020. “DeSantis took a page out of Gavin Newsom’s playbook. Despite what he says he shut the beaches down. He did force vaccines. He did force face masks on our kids.”
Yes folks, she really went there.

That’s quite a different tune from a year ago! Now Ron DeSantis is the enemy. Yet last year he was the undisputed champion with BDE!
While she remarked during her own gubernatorial campaign last year that “Every GOP Governor in the country looks to DeSantis for leadership on how to run a state,” and relished a comparison to him, calling it “the greatest compliment you could pay me.”
In another instance last August, she declared that DeSantis “has bigger – ok, wait let me think about how I wanna word this, my staff always says whatever you do, do not say balls – so I’m not gonna say it. That guy has a backbone made of steel.”
“I’ll tell you what he’s got, I don’t know if you’ve heard of it or not, but he’s got BDE. Anybody know what that means? Ask your kids about it later,” she added, referencing the acronym for “Big Dick Energy.”
Setting aside the ICK factor of the BDE remarks, one has to wonder what Kari Lake is smoking for her to step on those rakes that badly? Because she’s completely and utterly off base here with her accusations.
From day one, as soon as he stepped back and started REALLY assessing the Covid situation, the knives were out for him. How DARE he buck the Trump system? How DARE he go against Fauci’s recommendations??!! How DARE HE refuse to force people into lockdowns and to wear masks?? He’s keeping the schools open and is refusing to mandate vaccines? People will DIE!
That was the mantra from the media, from Democrats, and even Kari’s most favorite politician of all time, Donald Trump.
Yet now she’s claiming Ron DeSantis mandated masks for everyone including kids?? Uh no, Kari. He did not.

It was Donald Trump that closed beaches, forced kids to wear masks and banned tag at recess, and was preparing for a military COVID vaccine mandate.

He’s even on RECORD with an Executive Order stating that masks WILL NOT be required for kids in schools! Executive Order 21-175 in fact.
Furthermore, at no time did Ron DeSantis mandate vaccines. Instead, he made sure vaccines were available for everyone who chose to get the shots.
Making vaccines available is not the same as mandating the vaccines, Kari.

Does she REALLY think that going after Ron DeSantis and comparing him to Gavin Newsom will win over hearts, minds, and votes should she decide to run for Senate?
The Senate seat Lake would be vying for in the 2024 election is held by Kyrsten Sinema, a former Democrat who left her party last year and is now registered as an independent.
Though Sinema has not announced if she will seek reelection, she has been challenged by Democrat Ruben Gallego as well as by Republican Mark Lamb, the sheriff of Pinal County. Previous Senate candidate Blake Master is also expected to seek the Republican nod.
Recent surveys show Lake could expect to receive somewhere between 25 percent and 35 percent of the vote.
Given that she keeps losing in court regarding claims of election irregularities (and yes, things sure did seem fishy) in Arizona, I’d say her chances of winning are less than 25 percent!

Kari Lake is toxic for the GOP and for Trump (who ignored DeSantis during his reelection bid) whether he realizes it or not. Then again, Trump is going after DeSantis, so she’s just following his asinine lead. If she continues down this road, she’ll have only herself to blame for losing big time at the ballot box.

John Shepherd says: I keep seeing Trump-Reagan comparisons. They are way off base. Reagan led a movement. Trump is the movement. That is why hardcore Trump supporters will turn on a dime when he flip flops.
Lake is at the very least a grifter and very well maybe a DNC false flag. After all, she backed Obama and Clinton and only “saw the light” post 2020. She has successfully gotten on the Trump gravy train and will hang around as long as the cash flows and/or the DNC finds her useful.
Liz says: Reagan was also a true patriot. Trump cares most for himself.
When Trump was president (and I think he did a great job…not just a good job, but a great job) I acknowledged his ego, but recognized that it was beneficial because his ego was invested in legacy (which required performing well in the interest of our nation). Now it’s invested in something else entirely (revenge, for the most part). That is a problem.
Love DeSantis. Everyone would still be singing his praises if he weren’t running for president.

SFC D says: I voted for Kari for governor. Supported her election fraud claims up to a point (There’s some sketchy shit in Maricopa county, and if you carry that county, you win), but she’s lost my support. She’s shown her true colors.
