Joe Biden List War In Iran When Listing Covid Deaths

I must have missed it but apparently we fought a war in Iran. When Biden was discussing the Covid death toll, he said that more people have died from Covid than all the wars we fought in the 20th and 21st centuries. Iran was on the list. What?

I know that I looked like a fish this afternoon listening to Joe Biden talk in Raleigh. My eyes were bugged out and my mouth kept opening and closing. Victory Girls’ own Lisa told your about Creepy Joe and his weird whisper thing. He did the patented Creepy Joe Whisper and then he would thunder like a preacher at a Great Smoky Mountain Baptist Tent Revival. Not that I have been in a while.

Of course, ole racist Joe had to insult the very people he had come to Raleigh to convince to get vaccinated. From the New York Post:

“The reason why it’s been harder to get African Americans, initially, to get vaccinated is because they are used to be an experimented on — the Tuskegee Airmen and others,” Biden said.

“It’s awful hard as well to get Latinx vaccinated as well. Why? They’re worried that they will be vaccinated and deported.”

What do you want? Joe is a racist.

Joe wasn’t done. In order to convince the good people of Raleigh to take the Covid vaccine, Joe started listing statistics. Again from the New York Post:

“We lost 600,000 dead in America in about a year,” Biden said in North Carolina.

“That’s more than every life lost in World War I, World War II, the Vietnam War, Iraq, Iran, across the board — Afghanistan. More lives lost in a year than every major war in the 20th century and the 21st century.”

Here is the video. First though, I need to tell you about North Carolina Governor Roy Asberry Cooper III. Apparently, North Carolina has one of those vaccine lotteries. The opening of the video has Cooper doing his very best smarmy game show host impersonation:

We have not fought a war in Iran. Joe Biden is supplying the funding so that Iran can arm Hamas and maybe that is why Iran is on Joe’s mind.

More important is that Joe is peddling fear again. Yes, 603,000 Americans have died of Covid-19. The original estimate, according to the Lancet was more than three times higher:

Early projections of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted federal governments to action. One critical report, published on March 16, 2020, received international attention when it predicted 2 200 000 deaths in the USA and 510 000 deaths in the UK without some kind of coordinated pandemic response.1 This information became foundational in decisions to implement physical distancing and adherence to other public health measures because it established the upper boundary for any worst-case scenarios.

Just like in war, in global pandemics, people die. It’s a darn shame, but that is life. No one gets out alive. Comparing a pandemic to war is a false equivalence. Those who fight in wars are in the prime of their life and in the best of health. A pandemic is an entirely different event. The very young and the very old don’t get a pass. But, Joe is way past his sell-by date and logic was never one of his significant strengths.

Liberals may be comforted by Joe, even if he thinks we fought a war in Iran. Or, maybe he is planning a war in Iran. Our enemies like Iran, China and Russia see Dementia Joe and know that we are weak. That should terrify us all.

Methinks Biden inadvertently told the truth. We have been in a slow war with Iran ever since the embassy takeover. Iranian proxies carried out the bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon and Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia, and antivehicle mines in Iraq showed evidence of Iranian manufacture if I recall the new reports correctly.

Biden’s mangling of his speech was actually correct, in my opinion. I wonder how badly he will be chastized by his handlers.

Just like every friggin’ day in life. Heck, “just like with the annual influenza season, people die.”

Also, according to Wikipedia, the total deaths from all wars from WW1 to now is 625,372. Which is more than 600,000. Yes, 600,000 is a lot of people. But it could have been a lot fewer if, say, we hadn’t screwed up a lot of things. Here’s a partial list:
    – Moving sick/dying patients into places with less ability to handle contagion
    – Treating patients with pressurized oxygen (we figured out that isn’t a good thing to do)
    – NOT treating patients with the cheap and available HCQ cocktails
    – Isolating the well
    – Believing the hype that this was a deadly plague
    – Not isolating ourselves from China earlier

  • Using the very latest number – 607,476 (as of half an hour ago), the deaths FROM CoViD-19 are approximately 54,700. The actual rate of death FROM CoViD-19 is just about 9%. Combat deaths in WW2 were 291,557 (per Wikipedia).

Combat deaths – deaths resulting directly FROM a state of war – is the number that should be compared to deaths FROM CoViD-19.

Looking at the statistics for 1942 – 1945 (Census Bureau annual birth/mortality reports), total US deaths during WW2 were 5,657,788. Dig into causes – increased malnutrition diseases, increased industrial accident rate, increased diseases treatable (at the time) if medical supplies were not redirected to the fronts, etc. – the TOTAL deaths attributable to the state of war (combat and civilian deaths that would not have otherwise occurred in those four years) were somewhere between 1.4 and 1.5 million.
