The Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Senator Dick Durbin, held a hearing titled “Jim Crow 2021”, in response to the Georgia Voter Integrity Act, and in furtherance of the Congress’s H.R. 1, “For the People Act”. The subtitle of the Jim Crow 2021 hearing is: The Latest Assault on the Right to Vote. Senator Raphael Warnock, Representative Burgess Owens, and Stacey Abrams are among the witnesses.

Democrats never miss a chance to divide Americans by race, state, socio-economic status and sexuality. The Democrat party has historically been the party of racism. According to History.com, Jim Crow laws were enacted by Democrats:

During the Reconstruction era, local governments, as well as the national Democratic Party and President Andrew Johnson, thwarted efforts to help Black Americans move forward.

Violence was on the rise, making danger a regular aspect of African American life. Black schools were vandalized and destroyed, and bands of violent white people attacked, tortured and lynched Black citizens in the night. Families were attacked and forced off their land all across the South.

And:

The North was not immune to Jim Crow-like laws. Some states required Black people to own property before they could vote, schools and neighborhoods were segregated, and businesses displayed “Whites Only” signs.

Other than double standards, the only other two principles the Democrats have are abortion and accusing everyone else of what they are thinking and doing. Of course, they are going to accuse Republicans of Jim Crow 2021. They have nothing else.

The Georgia voting law that kicked off Jim Crow 2021 is far more open and accessible than man Blue State laws. You can read a comparison here. The goal of the Republican Party has been to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat. Personally, I would like to see one National Voting Day holiday, voter I.D. required, excused mail-in voting only and it better be a darn good excuse. The Republican Party would never listen to me.

That brings us to Burgess Owens. Congressman Owens was sworn into office in January, 2021 representing Utah’s 4th district, as a (gasp) Republican. Owens knows about Jim Crow. He was born in Ohio in 1951. His family had come to Ohio because his father could not do graduate studies in Texas because of Jim Crow laws. Mr. Owens helped to integrate his previously all-white high school and college (University of Miami) football teams. Not for nothing, his college degree is in biology and chemistry. You know, real science. He played a decade in the NFL with the Jets and Raiders. He has also worked as a chimney sweep.

Just a few days ago, the Salt Lake Tribune printed a cartoon comparing Congressman Owens to the KKK:

Owens is so right about Northern Racists. They will smile in your face and stab you in the back. And, if a black man gets out of line, they will call him out of his name. Black independent men and women are anathema to Liberals. These same people also call the police KKK.

Mr. Owens let them have it at the Jim Crow 2021 hearing:

Watching Dick Durbin’s ignorant, open-mouth idiot face listening to Owens’ story is, for me, the highlight of the video, since I already knew the story. And, oh my gravy, he quoted the Declaration of Independence. Owens talked about segregated bathrooms, theaters he could not enter and poll taxes. He truly shanked the Democrats when he said:

“By the way – 97% of Georgia voters already have a government-issued ID,” he explained. “What I find extremely offensive is the narrative from the left that black people are not smart enough, not educated enough, not desirous enough of education to do what every other culture and race does in this country: get an ID.”

Owens stated “true racism” in the United States comes from the Democratic Party having low expectations of black Americans. That same thought process, according to the congressman, is also coming from the White House.

It doesn’t matter what Owens says. The Democrats won’t hear him. The Democrats are heavily invested in keeping black folks in the victim mentality. They will nod like bobble head dolls when Raphael Warnock and Stacey Abrams.

The Democrats motto with regard to African Americans is “Jim Crow yesterday, Jim Crow 2021, Jim Crow forever.
