HuffPost Melts Down Over Donald Trump Claims That the FBI Loves Him

Donald Trump claims that the FBI loves him and Huffpost melts down.  I admit I had to think twice before resorting to using HuffPost as a “news source.”  While I have disdain and contempt for WaPo, NYT, and a host of usual suspects, HuffPost is in a league of its own.  That said, it’s a slow news day and I like red meat.  So, when I saw their headline: ‘Trump Suddenly Loves ‘Sleazy’ FBI Agents, Insists He Always ‘Has Their Backs’ I took the bait and clicked on the article.  I guess it’s my own version of “Republican’s Pounce!”  Once again, a lib “reporter” cannot understand Trump’s and the public-at-large’s current feelings about the FBI and THE FBI.

Mary Papenfuss, the writer from HuffPost says this:

“Trump attacked the FBI as seditious, abusive, criminal, and “sleazy” after agents hauled out about 20 boxes of White House material from his Florida home, including 11 sets of classified information. The Presidential Records Act states those records should have been turned over to the National Archives when Trump’s term ended.”

She clearly doesn’t understand the truth or history, but hey, that’s par for the course for today’s “journalists.”

What Trump said on his Truth Social post is this:

“I hear that the great Agents & others in the FBI are furious at FBI leadership for what they are doing with respect to political weaponization against a President (me) that always had their backs, and that they like (love!) a lot. They don’t like being “used” by people they do not agree with, or respect. Likewise, they are not exactly thrilled with the leadership at DOJ! Similar to the revolt against Comey when he exonerated Crooked Hillary, but was forced, by them, to withdraw the exoneration!”

He’s not wrong.  Just last week, The Washington Examiner covered Jim Jordan’s claim that 14 FBI Agents have come forward as whistleblowers.  They claim, unsurprisingly, that the agency has become a political hit squad and that Donald Trump is their target:

“Fourteen FBI agents have come to our office as whistleblowers, and they are good people,” Jordan said. “There are lots of good people in the FBI. It’s the top that is the problem. Some of these good agents are coming to us, telling us what is baloney, what’s going on — the political nature now of the Justice Department — God bless them for doing it — talking about the school board issue, about a whole host of issues.”

On The Ingraham Angle, Jordan expanded upon this wave of FBI field agents’ growing frustration at being used by the political hacks at the top of the FBI food chain.  In fact, according to some of these agents, there is a purge within the agency to rid themselves of “unsavory” agents.  Unsavory, of course, means conservative.

Yet, according to Miss Papenfuss:

“In days that followed the search, Trump baselessly called it a “sneak attack” and a “raid,” a “siege,” and “corrupt.” He also claimed FBI agents “planted” evidence in his home.”

  1. It was a sneak attack.  Hardly baseless.
  2. I don’t know how else to define a “raid” if it isn’t 30+ agents swarming your home and rifling through your wife’s underwear drawer.
  3. Trump didn’t say the FBI planted evidence, he just said that with no witnesses or cameras allowed in his home during the raid, evidence could have been planted.  Big difference.

Donald Trump has now teased a legal challenge to the raid on his home.  I think I have connected some dots on why the FBI went rummaging around in Melania’s undergarments.  Perhaps the FBI was thinking about how ‘ol Bill Clinton hid secret tapes in his sock drawer??  If you haven’t seen or read John Soloman’s piece at Just the News, it’s a MUST read:

“When it comes to the National Archives, history has a funny way of repeating itself. And legal experts say a decade-old case over audio tapes that Bill Clinton once kept in his sock drawer may have significant impact over the FBI search of Melania Trump’s closet and Donald Trump’s personal office.”

‘The most mind-blowing excerpt of the entire article is this:

“As to whether records a president concluded were personal can be forcibly seized after he leaves office, the court concluded it was unreasonable to force NARA to go get the tapes

“Because the audiotapes are not physically in the government’s possession, defendant submits that it would be required to seize them directly from President Clinton in order to assume custody and control over them,” Jackson noted. “Defendant considers this to be an ‘extraordinary request’ that is unfounded, contrary to the PRA’s express terms, and contrary to traditional principles of administrative law. The Court agrees.”

I think some folks might have led The Donald to connect those same dots:

“A major motion pertaining to the Fourth Amendment will soon be filed concerning the illegal Break-In of my home, Mar-a-Lago, right before the ever important Mid-Term Elections. My rights, together with the rights of all Americans, have been violated at a level rarely seen before in our Country. Remember, they even spied on my campaign. The greatest Witch Hunt in USA history has been going on for six years, with no consequences to the scammers. It should not be allowed to continue!”

So, here’s the deal Miss Pappenfuss, we conservatives are in a bit of an admitted conundrum.  We despise and loath the clique of FBI leaders on the 7th floor of the bureau and the “disinformation” they keep leaking to the press.  We would love to rebuild the agency from the ground up.  There are some great agents at the agency doing great work.  However, two truths can be held simultaneously.  The FBI leadership is sleazy and corrupt AND there are FBI agents who love The Donald.  I know it’s hard for a “journalist” like Miss Pappenfuss to understand this reality, but let’s be fair, if she works at HuffPost, she doesn’t believe in reality.

To put it in the bluntest of terms, the FBI needs to be completely disbanded, its properties sold off and its higher ups buried under a few jails. At best, keep them as an investigative body with no law enforcement powers.

  • Ann in L.A. says:

Go find and read Andy McCarthy’s piece at NRO rebutting Mike Pence’s defense of the FBI. He details the “malfeasance” of the agency going back years, talks about the respect he has for many agents, but concludes that the FBI is not saveable in its current form.

  • Blackwing1 says:

…and exactly how MANY of these “respectable agents” have either resigned or been fired for refusing to execute these blatantly illegal and unconstitutional orders?

Since that number is zero one must conclude that there are no good apples in the barrel and that the entire crop of bad apples must be tossed out.
