Horrors! Christian Group Providing COVID Aid in NYC

New York City is the hottest of hotspots for COVID-19 in the US. Horror stories coming from EMTs to doctors and hospital workers abound. But according to wokesters, the biggest shocker is that a Christian group is volunteering medical help in Central Park.

How dare they pollute the wide green expanse of NY’s most famous park! How dare they show their face in the sophisticated center of the universe!

You’ve probably heard of this group: Samaritan’s Purse, the Christian organization which provides relief to people affected by disaster — no matter where on the globe. Most recently they’ve been in Italy, giving medical relief for COVID victims there. Now they’ve set up a field hospital in New York City’s Central Park and are already treating patients.

However, you know the old saying: No good deed goes unpunished. That also goes for Samaritan’s Purse, whom some New Yorkers despise because Christian!

Take, for example, the website Gothamist, which sniffed out the group and went into moral outrage mode. Why, Franklin Graham, “a notorious anti-LGBTQ and Islamophobic preacher,” runs Samaritan’s Purse! What’s more, he wants an all-Christian medical staff of volunteers who adhere to a particular statement of faith, which includes belief in traditional marriage.

Oh, and did I mention the pièce de résistance: Franklin Graham supports President Trump!

O.M.G.!

But Gothamist staff aren’t the only wokesters casting stink-eye at Samaritan’s Purse. Mayor Bill de Blasio allowed them onto Central Park, but he’s very suspicious of their Christian agenda.

“I said immediately to my team that we had to find out exactly what was happening. Was there going to be an approach that was truly consistent with the values [of] New York City?”

After all, you can’t be too careful about these evangelical types. Because what if they asked if you’re saved or something? What’s next — a neo-Nazi group?

However, what the wokesters overlook is the fact that Christians feel the need to help people in crisis. It’s how they roll. Nor does it matter what religion people are, or if they have none at all. As Jesus said, “. . . as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” That’s not only how Samaritan’s Purse operates — it’s the modus operandi for Christians of every stripe, from Protestant to Roman Catholic to Orthodox.

Those snarky anti-Christian wisecracks are what pundit Bill Whittle calls “cocktail party opinions.” That’s the sort of stuff liberals say to establish their sophisticated bona fides among others of like mind. See how I’m so much better than those knuckle-dragging Christians who hate science and think there’s only two genders?

But guess who came to the rescue of Samaritan’s Purse? None other than the New York Daily News, no friend of Trump or conservatives. In fact, the Daily News opined that New Yorkers should be “thanking their lucky stars” that the group is providing medical service — gratis, no less — to the beleaguered Big Apple. So shut up.

“The fact that Graham believes that same-sex relations and gender transitioning are against God’s will matters not; what matters is that the field hospital’s medical professionals are duty-bound to obey the Hippocratic Oath.”

If any of the wokesters at Gothamist began spiking a fever and having trouble breathing, do you think they’d turn their backs on care from the Samaritan’s Purse tent? Of course not. It’s so easy to proclaim your identity politics when you’re sitting behind a keyboard. It’s another thing when your life is on the line and the only port in your storm displays a cross.

I’d like to hear sound data on how much they helped there. I’m betting fewer people died because they were there.

consistent with the values [of] New York City
Yes, because “values!” while your people are dying….

    “cocktail party opinions.”
Yes, they can afford to hold those opinions. They have private hospitals they can go to. They can afford to hole up in their house and make others run risks for them. They’re so rich they can afford to make bad decisions.

From the video (no guarantee of exact transcription):
Wow, what a shame that someone would want to share their beliefs with people.
Which is funny, since the wokescolds would insist that we MUST share their beliefs or we will be cancelled. But, yeah, don’t you dare help because you’re ‘wrong’.
    *smh*
