Horrific Indiana Murder Brings Out Typical Excuses

The murder of Amanda Blackburn in Indianapolis was shocking and horrific. The details are worse.

Amanda Blackburn was sexually assaulted and shot in the head during what police think was a home invasion robbery. She was 12 weeks pregnant, and her son Weston was in his crib when his mother was assaulted and shot. She died two days later. The police cleared Davey Blackburn, her husband and a local pastor, almost immediately. A big break in the case came when other neighbors reported break-ins during the same time as Amanda’s murder, and home surveillance cameras produced an image of a suspect.

The suspect is black and wore a two-toned hoodie with light pants, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department captain Craig Converse said at a news conference. He said the suspect’s height is between 5 feet, 4 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches.

He tried to pull his hood down over his face, Converse added.

Investigators also revealed that the suspect apparently saw an opportunity after burglarizing a house two doors down, then seeing the pastor leave home to exercise early Tuesday morning. They said several neighbors spotted the suspect outside and reported him to police.

A handgun has also been recovered and taken in for testing. On Thursday, police questioned three men and arrested two of them on unrelated warrants.

The three men were taken into custody Thursday morning after police served search warrants in different parts of the city, according to FOX59. An IMPD spokesperson confirmed to the Fox affiliate that two of the men were arrested on unrelated parole violations.

Officers conducted DNA swabs on the three men to connect them to the crime scene.

One of the men questioned and now in jail on an unrelated charge is telling his sister, who then told the media, that he had nothing to do with the murder.

Jalen Watson, 21, was arrested for a parole violation and possession of marijuana Thursday afternoon.

Watson’s older sister Geornita talked with us at her home about Jalen’s arrest. She says her brother called her from jail Thursday evening.

She believes Jalen didn’t have anything to do with the murder of Amanda Blackburn.

“He told me that he’d been locked up and I’m like, ‘For what? What did you do?’ It startled me because he hadn’t been in any trouble so, he’s like, ‘Well, they said something about a murder or something, Geornita I don’t know what they’re talking about, like I don’t know anything,’” said Watson.

Watson has a lengthy criminal history that includes burglary, theft, possession of a controlled substance and gang activity.

And…. wait for it….

His sister says he was in the process of turning his life around.

Of course he was.

The case will hinge on the DNA evidence that the killer or killers left behind. We will see then just how much Watson was “in the process of turning his life around.” In the meantime, pray for the Blackburn family. A young woman was callously and senselessly murdered by strangers in her own home. Think of the husband who lost his wife and unborn child, and Weston, who was robbed of his mother at 15 months old. Pray for justice.

When asked by a reporter on one of his multiple tv appreaances this week about finding the killer and justice for Amanda, Davey says, “It’s such a conundrum.” http://watchkeep.blogspot.com/2015/11/its-such-conundrum-davey-blackburn-when.html?m=1

And your point is…. what? That the police are incompetent in clearing him as a suspect? That there is no possibility, at all, whatsoever, that the other neighborhood robberies and the surveillance camera images are actually linked to Amanda’s murder?

I’m not sure what your connection/fascination with this case is, but clearly, according to your blog link, you are invested in this being a huge conspiracy. What happens if the DNA comes back and puts a total stranger at the crime scene, and maybe one of the suspects the police have questioned? I’m curious how much evidence or what kind of evidence you would need to be convinced that your conspiracy theory is wrong.

      Hi Amy
I would also respectfully ask if the DNA comes back with a match to Watson, exonerating Amanda’s husband, will you be spending as much bandwidth, time, and energy on apologizing to Danny for all your own reckless insinuations? I suspect not but I hope you prove me wrong.

Well, guess who was arrested for the murder??? Jalen Watson!!!
Geornita, you must be wrong! Your brother was part of the so-called Kill Gang. Turning his life around??????????

    Disgusting.
