The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee held a hearing on election security and administration issues today. The hearing was led by Chairman Ron Johnson, Republican of Wisconsin. His opening statement was non-controversial, but raised issues arising from the 2020 Presidential Election. Ranking member, Gary Peters, Democrat from Michigan, called the hearing dangerous. He stated that asking questions would raise questions about the integrity of the election and that the election is over.
The Committee hearing today included the fired Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency head Chris Krebs, who still insisted this was the most secure election EVAH, and Judge Ken Starr as witnesses. There was a lot of boring details and speechifying. That’s not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about ranking member, Gary Peters.
Yesterday, I wrote about Jon Ossoff and his punchable face. Today, I want to tell you about Gary Peters and his punchable throat.
Election security is at the heart of our belief in our Nation. For anyone to deny that there were chain of custody issues, signature verification issues, and unsolicited ballot issues in this election is ignorant, stupid and dangerous. Speaking of dangerous, that is what Senator Peters called this hearing. From his opening statement:
BUT LET ME BE CLEAR, DECIDING TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THIS HEARING IS STILL DANGEROUS. ELECTED LEADERS WHO ARE CHOSEN BY THE VOTERS TO HELP UPHOLD OUR INSTITUTIONS AND DEMOCRATIC VALUES SPENT WEEKS EITHER TURNING A BLIND EYE, OR PARROTING PROVOCATIVE RHETORIC AND FALSE CLAIMS ABOUT THIS ELECTION. BY NOT SPEAKING OUT EARLIER, EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW IT WAS WRONG, BUT THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THESE CLAIMS AND THAT THIS INFLAMMATORY RHETORIC IS HARMFUL TO OUR DEMOCRACY, MANY ELECTED OFFICIALS GAVE THE PRESIDENT AND HIS SUPPORTERS LICENSE TO SPREAD DAMAGING LIES ABOUT THE ELECTION. WE HAVE KNOWN FOR WEEKS THAT THERE WAS NO WIDESPREAD VOTER FRAUD.
Having a hearing is dangerous? Getting out information is dangerous. The election is over, move on. I admit that I made throat punch motions at the screen where Peters face was. I would play you the video, but his whole opening statement was more of the same and the mask muffled his mumbling any way.
Senator Peters wants to talk about “provocative rhetoric”. Okay, I’ll play. Let’s start with May, 2017 from your own Twitter account:
Trump’s Russian ties are festering, foreign infection & could weaken our democratic system. Special prosecutor is needed to address it. pic.twitter.com/Vwvp3Anok0

“Inflammatory rhetoric”? Today, Senator Ron Johnson called Peters out for his lying:
“I just have to talk about Russian disinformation because the people peddling it are not on my side of the aisle,” Johnson said.
“Senior Democrat leaders, including ranking member Peters,” he continued, “they were involved in a process of creating a false intelligence product, it was supposed to be classified, they leaked to the media, that accused Sen. [Chuck] Grassley, the president pro tempore of the Senate, and myself of accepting and disseminating Russian disinformation.”
Johnson said Peters “introduced that false information” – which he said was itself Russian disinformation – into the record of the committee’s investigation. He went on to say that after Democrats said revelations from Hunter Biden’s laptop were Russian disinformation, they later learned that there was a real, ongoing Justice Department investigation involving Hunter Biden.
“So it’s just galling – and I have to point out – that the purveyors of Russian disinformation, Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the DNC, the Steele dossier, the ranking member Peters accusing Sen. Grassley and I of disseminating Russian disinformation – that’s where the disinformation is coming, the lies, the false allegations.”
The video of the comments are hot, hot, hot.
Liar, liar pants on fire, Senator Peters. And, when your Russia collusion lies didn’t work on getting Trump out of office, you voted to convict President Trump for the Ukraine phone call. From Senator Peters statement:
“We are here because President Trump used his power as President of the United States to pressure a foreign nation to help him with his upcoming re-election. Ukraine is at war with Russia, and our ongoing military assistance is not only critical to them, but it is vital to our own nation’s security. Holding up this aid for the sake of politics was a clear abuse of power. “Today’s vote and President Trump’s actions put our 2020 U.S. elections at even greater risk of foreign interference.
You, Gary Peters, you sowed the seeds for distrust in our Nation’s elected officials, systems and election integrity.
Do not ever blame President Donald Trump or any of his voters for not believing the 2020 Presidential Election results. That’s on you. You started it. Try looking in the mirror. Not that any Democrat has the ability of self-examination. No depth and no moral compass. That’s what is dangerous to our Republic.

It’s also likely that the stolen Michigan vote robbed John James of the senate seat that Peters occupies. What a stooge.
