Fusion GPS is at it again folks. This time Glenn Simpson and Peter Fritsch penned an op-ed that informs the British electorate that they voted conservative because Russia told them to.
Yes indeed. Not only that, but their entire op-ed ALSO implies that the 2016 BREXIT vote to leave the EU was run by the Russians.
“The British political system has become thoroughly compromised by Russian influence. It’s high time its institutions – including the media – woke up to that fact. In 2016, both the United Kingdom and the United States were the targets of Russian efforts to swing their votes. The aim was to weaken the alliances that had constrained Vladimir Putin’s ambitions, such as the European Union and Nato.”
With the help of their good friend and pal, Christopher Steele, Glenn and Peter are here to sound the warning siren once again. In fact, they want whistleblowers!
“Many US institutions have shown more backbone and independence than their UK counterparts. Some of those who served in the Trump administration, such as the British-born Fiona Hill and Lt Col Alexander Vindman, have been willing to stand up in public and tell the truth, despite intimidation from the president and his allies. In the UK, the courageous whistleblowers needed to expose Russian influence have yet to emerge.”
Isn’t that something? Let’s have some whistleblowers stand up (behind the curtains) and try to overturn yesterday’s vote through a scheme of innuendo and second-hand information. Yeah, that’s the ticket!
It’s ok though. They are just climbing onto Hillary’s bandwagon. As I wrote here, Hillary went into lecture mode about delaying Britain’s Russia report until after the election. It was “shameful” you guys. Isn’t it just something that a 2X failed Presidential candidate thinks it’s quite ok to tell another country how to govern?
Glenn and Peter are absolutely certain that Russia is the reason why the UK election resulted in the Labour Party getting shellacked like they did. Jeremy Corbin evidently wasn’t a consideration for them as he was supposed to win. A few reasons why he and Labour lost are:
Golly, looking at the list, much of it resembles a certain failure of a campaign in 2016. Hi Hillary!!
Nahhhh…it’s the Russians dammit!
It’s worth reminding our readers that Russia’s expenditures in the 2016 U.S. Presidential election cycle Russia only spent $100,000 on digital ads and $46K on Facebook ads. How much did the Clinton and Trump campaigns spend? $81K on Facebook ads. Yet we are somehow supposed to believe that that piddly amount of spending by the Russians was enough to rig the election in favor of Trump?
Given this latest op-ed from the Fusion GPS folks, that’s the only conclusion we are supposed to draw from this.
Keep in mind, Christopher Steele won’t discuss any of his assertions regarding Russian influence in Britain or even the U.S. in court. Why? British libel laws are much stricter than U.S. libel laws.
But that’s ok! You see, Russia did it!

Exactly. The timing of their op-ed is quite something. It hit the airwaves just as it was becoming very clear that the Labour Party had failed miserably. So, rather than blame Corbyn, let’s make Russia the culprit. Good times.
Stop me if you heard this one before: overconfident liberals have a tantrum after losing a national election because they put up a bad candidate and stayed home, electing a brash braggart with bad hair
Next up: a bad-faith investigation into the winner and zero self-reflection.

As to how unhinged this whole idea of Russia conspiracy makes people?
I am really sad. I love my friends in the UK and a dumb, bigoted muppet is running your country and is about to starve you of medicine and food and start a global depression. And make no mistake: Putin rigged yours like he rigged ours. Your "leaders" are just complicit toadies

Gosh, isn’t she something? As for Jeremy Corbyn? He’s SAD!
Quite the litany of excuses. He had so much public support! And yet the votes weren’t there. None of this was his fault y’all! The party membership didn’t work as hard as they were supposed to. People were mean to me!
Channeling Hillary Clinton is NOT a good look Jeremy.
As for Glenn Simpson, Peter Fritsch, and Fusion GPS, telling British citizens that their votes were totally influenced by Russia takes a lot of chutzpah. Telling British citizens that the media has been bought by Russia and therefore the election was rigged is quite arrogant of them.
But then, that’s how they roll. Which country’s election will they next blame Russia for? France?

Here’s a theory to consider: Fusion GPS is taking specific directions from a foreign government, specially…. Russia!!! No, seriously, look what they have done. Fusion GPS has thrown US politics into chaos and gridlock by feeding scandalous info to American law enforcement and the media.
Perhaps just last week a conversation at the Kremlin went something like this:
“Well, Vlad, what do you think? Through our Fusion GPS group we will actually get the American president impeached!
“Great job, Ivan. I’ll double your bonus this year. So, Sergei, as assistant minister of making political chaos overseas, what do you think of what your boss as done?
“Mr. President, I ask for a few days time. Hey Ivan,,,I mean, boss,… give me Fusion GPS’s phone number and… here, hold my vodka.
I’ll double your bonus this year.
You get FOUR cans of peas for Christmas this year!
(And don’t complain, or I’ll have you editing the video of Boris Johnson peeing on prostitutes.)
The British political system has become thoroughly compromised by Russian influence.
I concur! We should disband all the leftist parties for that very reason!
(Yes, a bunch of them actually are commies, as in beholden to the Soviets and run by them in those days. Now the commies are slightly more independent, but still beholden to the threat.)
The aim was to weaken the alliances that had constrained Vladimir Putin’s ambitions
So, they would want everyone to vote for those folks who weakened those alliances, right? Like… the left?
such as the British-born Fiona Hill and Lt Col Alexander Vindman
Hmmmm, maybe we shouldn’t let foreigners into important roles in our gov’t? (Note they left out where Vindman is from: Ukraine.)
have been willing to … tell the truth
Now you’re just full of s***.
Glenn and Peter are absolutely certain that Russia is the reason why the UK election resulted in the Labour Party getting shellacked like they did.
So, the Russians interfered in order to prevent their fellow communists from accumulating more power?
(Yes, the folks running Russia are still holding onto the important parts of communism – absolute total central power, with an imperial streak. Ironically, that’s also what Russia was before the communists….)
Ignoring voters choice on Brexit
This was absolutely the biggest reason. Britons had gotten used to a pseudo-Democratic republic constitutional monarchy thing. Then along comes Labour and tells them they don’t know what the hell they’re talking about, they should just shut up about all of these “concerns” of theirs, don’t you know that our betters on the continent are running things just fine, and obviously all you folks shouldn’t even have the right to vote about consequential things because you’re all easily-led rubes. And a bunch of the English said, “Wut?!” and rolled up their sleeves and went hooligan on the left in the election.
They made me proud. *sniff*
Channeling Hillary Clinton is NOT a good look Jeremy.
Darleen, you want to do the photoshop of Corbyn in a Hillary mumu?
I blame (in a large part) Trump for Boris’ win.
Congrats to both!Another strike against the Reds.
Gosh. I wonder if any “attempted influence” came from the nice folks in Brussels,
financing the now irrelevant folks of Fusion GPS?
Through a shell or two of course.
