Well my lovelies, the 2022 midterm elections are almost over. Our part is done; we showed up and voted. Watching coverage of it last night was like watching a hippo poo spray compilation. I was so angry it took me several Downton Abbey episodes to stop gritting my teeth. What makes me so mad is that the Republican Party does this to us every time. Every. Darn. Time. We are gonna win, right up until we lose. I have begun to make myself feel better with a search for the villains. I have picked four. Let’s see if you agree.
Mitch McConnell
I don’t care what anyone says, Mitch the Turtle must be numero uno in any list of villains. He has been in the U.s. Senate since 1985, 37 years, and at the top of the Republican power structure for more than two decades. And, what has he done? I’ll wait. Okay, you are right. He denied Merrick “The Partisan Hack” a seat on the Supreme Court. That’s huge, but…, come on, 37 years. And, the Garland squeeze play was seven years ago. Mitch has always snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. From Fox News Channel:
On Thursday, when asked for his 2022 prediction at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce luncheon, McConnell cited “candidate quality” as a reason why he believes Republicans will face difficulty in flipping the Senate in November and instead might only be able to flip control of the House.
“I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate,” said McConnell, who has led the GOP in the Senate since 2007. “Senate races are just different, they’re statewide. Candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.”
Thanks for the help, Mitch. Mark Levin said it far better than I could:
The radio host also had choice words for the current leader of the Republican Party in Congress, Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky – whom he claimed has questioned some of the nominees for key Senate races this cycle.
“You criticized our candidates. Let me tell you something. We have great candidates. We have citizen candidates, people with all kinds of backgrounds,” he said.
Levin further addressed McConnell, saying that the candidates referenced are not likely to join with the Washington establishment, but should still not be criticized for that.
It’s not like the Dems didn’t have some sucky candidates on their side, as Lisa wrote here. Mitch did nothing but sit in a wing chair in his D.C. townhouse.
Donald Trump
Trump has only been in politics as a candidate for eight years. Eight looooong years. Eight years is enough for a learning curve, if you are capable of learning. Three days before the 2022 midterm elections at a rally, Trump called Florida Governor Ron DeSantis “Desantimonious”. Ugh.
Unnessary! I like Trump. I also like DeSantis. They both have the same policies. But, right now, egos need to take a back seat to winning! Last thing Trump needs to do is alienate conservatives with his attacks on DeSantis. Don't make me choose, please! https://t.co/wwyKAQQucQ

Stop it, Trump, or go away. I still heart you, but I am tired of defending you. You are one of the villains now.
Kevin McCarthy
I debated whether McCarthy should be two or three on this villains list. Grr. Trump is bigger and makes bigger mistakes. McCarthy is number three. He lied about a conversation with Liz Cheney about asking Trump to resign after January 6. Why even have that conversation? I have never liked pollster Frank Luntz, he is the Mitch McConnell of Vichy patriots. So, it totally skeeves me out when I think about the “friendship” between Kevin McCarthy and Frank Luntz.
Democrat Media Industrial Complex
President Eisenhower warned of the Military Industrial Complex. It’s far worse than that now. The military and related industries, the permanent Administrative State, Big Media and the Democrat Party are all aligned. How else could we be shipping all of this money and materiel to Ukraine without anybody questioning it. Democrat candidates get a free pass. Republican candidates get a free colonosopy daily. I am so tired of the slanted perspective. Think of how many stories have been hidden from us: the Hunter Biden laptop, Joe in the basement, and lastly John Fetterman:
The Democrat Media Industrial Complex doesn’t need real candidates, just avatars like Joe Biden and John Fetterman.
There are my four villains. Do you have a list of villains?

Funny (but not ha ha funny) that you didn’t mention any election fraudsters (maybe cause you couldn’t pick a top four from the crowd of hundreds, if not thousands).
But, those villains are going to pay with pelts sooner or later.
“Eight looooong years. Eight years is enough for a learning curve, if you are capable of learning.”
That is going to be the $64,000 question (about $72,000 when you factor in inflation) … Can the people that support TFG (the F*@king Genius) figure out he’s finished? TFG is still going to embarrass and humiliate himself because narcissistic psychopaths are unable to see beyond their own selfish interests. That’s going to be a given. He’s not going to stop. What’s the old adage … “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.” How many more times can TFG fool his supporters? Hopefully, at least a few more times for the sake of our democracy.
Eight looooong years? It’s not even 2 years into his second term. Buckle up butter cup, his likeness is going to be carved into Mt. Rushmore before he’s done with his 4th Term.
Trump backed more winners than anyone else last night. And that includes George Soros. Let that sink in.
And the saying goes, “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, that’s your fnazzz, better be looking over your shoulder.” But it’s got nothing to do with Trump, it’s a ballot-pusher thing.
If the Republican party had had the guts to dump Trump after the Biden win, things might have changed significantly for the mid terms. Trump is a mean-spirited egotist who did nothing for the party. Anyone who supports him for a re-run in 2024 is nuts. He needs to bow out…or be thrown out to give the Republicans a fighting chance in 2024.
Most of the [especially important] wins last night were on Trump’s coat tails and his tireless campaigning.
Trump is what’s “IN” and it ain’t a passing fad. MAGA yourself, it’s a reality all will come to sooner or later.
Good luck with that: Trump couldn’t bring victory this time….He never will!
Lloyd
Democrats elected a president who literally ran from his basement. This guy was and still is a gaffe machine. He acts like he is suffering dementia.
In Pennsylvania Democrats elected a Senater who obviiously suffered severe hits from stroke. His debate performance was a joke. Since he wouldn’t release his medical records, voters elected this guy without knowing whether this guy will ever recover his communication skills. But don’t worry. Biden actually said his wife would make a good senator.
Can you imagine the news media and big tech letting Republicans get away with anything like that?
Trump isn’t perfect, and he doesn’t look perfect. He lives under a microscope. We know all of his actual sins, and we know those Liberal Democrat politicians and news media activists make up.
Oh my! I thought Trump had graabbed you firmly by the you-know-what. You turned out to be a fair weather MAGAster, you traitor!
The United States has the highest out-of-wedlock birthrate in the world. We get the elected politicians one would expect from a nation of bastards.
Not to bust your (red) bubble (which is just as unrealistic as the blue bubble too many are trapped in), but despite having deep misgivings about the Candidate Quality of Republican Senate candidates, Sen. McConnell directed over $200 Million towards helping their campaigns. See the linked article from August 2022:
Most of these losers were recruited by Donald Trump.
So, before you start the Circular Firing Squad – one of those Republican Reactions which really helps the Democrats, remember and apply Reagan’s 11th Commandment: Thou Shall Not Speak Against A Fellow Republican In Public (and start reminding The Donald of it. There’s still a Senate Runoff Election to win in Georgia. 51 Senators is enough to stop Biden’s unqualified and radical nominations for federal judges, and call in all of his regulations and executive orders for review (and disapproval) by Congress. And, whatever your feelings about McConnell, he’s been able to get all Republican Senators to hold the line (and getting Rand Paul and Mitt Romney to agree on a vote – along with several others – is a talent desperately needed for the next 2 years).
