Well, will he or won’t he? In a statement Wednesday morning, Kid Rock said that eh, maybe he won’t run for Senate after all. Or maybe he will? Right now he’s setting up a nonprofit organization to promote voter registration, according to news on his webpage. And then he’ll let everyone know in about six weeks whether or not he wants to be Sen. Rock. Or would it be Sen. Ritchie — with Ritchie being his birth name?
Whatever he decides, Rock has gleaned a ton of publicity. Lots of people are pumping their fists for Rock after he wrote, “One thing is for sure though…The democrats are ‘shattin’ in their pantaloons’ right now…and rightfully so!” Then he further promised, “. . . if I decide to throw my hat in the ring for US Senate, believe me… it’s game on mthrfkers.”
Wow, that’s so . . . statesmanlike. Do I really need a sarcasm tag here?
Look, Kid Rock wrapping himself in a flag and promising to kick Democratic tuchas is not a reason to support him. Other than becoming a rock n’ roll celebrity, what else has he accomplished?
Well, yeah, he married the boobalicious Pamela Anderson, and later divorced her, calling her a “publicity whore.” Then Rock decked fellow rocker Tommy Lee over Anderson, or maybe because Lee sent emails that dissed him, or who knows?
Not to mention the little issue of the sex tape featuring Rock, Creed frontman Scott Stapp, and four other women.
Finally, Kid Rock had a bit part in the atrocious, mullet-haired Joe Dirt.
Why any serious Michigander would even consider making this redneck Jeff Spicoli their senator is beyond me. Don’t we already have one clown in the Senate (I’m looking at you, Al Franken)?
However, there is real hope for Michigan Republicans to win back a Senate seat from Democrat Debbie Stabenow. His name is John James, and this is one candidate the entire nation should know, not just Michigan.
Who is John James? This picture is a starter:
If you guessed that he’s a former Army pilot, you’re correct. Moreover, he’s a West Point graduate who flew Apache helicopters in Iraq in 2007. When James returned he became president of James Group International, a supply chain and logistics business founded by his father. Now he’s also CEO of subsidiary Renaissance Global Logistics.
As James explained on why he wants to help Michigan:
“I was over there fighting for Iraqi freedom during the time of the Great Recession. I come back on leave, and I drive around, and the city of Detroit in some places looked just about as bad as Baghdad.”
And on his business accomplishments:
“We grew the company from about $35 million to about $137 million between 2012 and 2017. We increased our workforce from 100 to about 200 and are looking at adding a few more jobs in western Wayne County.”
If that’s not enough to draw you away from the shiny object celebrity candidate, then watch this video from James’ website. He’s pro-life, pro-2A, pro-military, pro-business — and a West Point grad, veteran, and family man. What more can a conservative want?
Now look at this picture and tell me whom you would rather see in the U.S Senate? John James? or Kid Rock?
I don’t live in Michigan, but if I did I’d be more than happy to vote for John James. He’s a man every conservative should know.
I also do not live in Michigan but from what I have seen on the video I wish he was from Oregon. We need someone who has his qualifications. So Michiganites you need to seriously get behind this man.
This is a one sided article. Kid Rock is loved in MI because he walks the walk. He invests there, he is very generous in his philanthropy, and he is more successful business wise than the guy you are touting. You have to do a legit comparison side by side to move today’s readers. This is not an article its a political ad for your candidate. Kid Rock pretty much has the same policies as this guy and he has a wider following. Plus MI isn’t a conservative state so that isn’t an argument. Either would be better than Debbie.
Can we have them both win? Maybe Rock can run against the other MI senator? Or move to MN?
I love the idea of Mr James running and winning. But it will only work if the people’s attitudes and principles change. Much like Trump, Rock would at least make all the right people’s heads explode.
Others beat me to it. I’d like to see both.
Neither is a career establishment politician or insane leftist progressive. I’ll take both, thanks.
