Foley Tweets Were Supportive of Terrorism, ISIS Didn’t Care

By now everyone in the civilized world has seen the story of James Foley’s execution.  To say that it is horrific and brutal does not even come close to describing it.  Any decent American—nay, any decent human—who has read the account is disgusted, angry, saddened.  As always seems to happen with awful stories, however, more information is coming out: James Foley went to Syria to support the Islamist rebels against the Syrian government, as Daniel Greenfield found—the same Islamist rebels who were systematically beheading Christians.

For the most [part] Foley only mentioned Syrian Christians when he was promoting the myth that the Sunni Jihadists were actually a secular democracy-loving force that incorporated Christians and Kurds on equal terms.

Foley’s Twitter feed, which as of this morning is still up, is full of anti-Israel sentiment, support for terrorism, and more.  Greenfield posted several of the more salient ones in his article.

He cheered on the Sunni Muslim terrorists fighting to ethnically cleanse the Christians of Aleppo. In the conflict between Israel and Hamas, his tweets and retweets were chock full of pro-Sunni Syrian terrorist propaganda.

Does any of this matter now that he’s dead?  Did he deserve to die?  The answer to this is an emphatic, loud, nearly profane NO.  It does not matter what his race or political affiliation was.  It does not matter if he went there to kill terrorists or hang out with them.  It matters that he was an American citizen who was murdered on camera in a brutal and animalistic fashion.  I want the person who killed him to be cut in pieces and set on fire, if for no other reason than to show them that we have the stomach to fight the war that needs to be fought…and win it.

At the end of the day, this story isn’t about whether James Foley was a propaganda outlet for terrorism.  It’s not about whether he didn’t like Israel, or if he made fun of the War on Terror.  It’s not even about the fact that his tweets are 2 years old…ending just before he was abducted by the very groups he supported. I feel honest sadness at not only his death, but for the horror he must have felt in that moment when he realized the truth.  James Foley was not a villain.  He was, however, a victim of one critical truth that so many refuse to understand:

ISIS does not care about what you believe politically, who you support, or who you are.  They just want you dead.

CNN’s Peter Bergen co-wrote a piece yesterday whose main point was basically that ISIS really isn’t a big deal, and certainly not a major threat.  This is the type of thing that America feeds on. It is easier to feel the empathy for Foley and his family while distancing ourselves from the reality of the threat to ourselves.  It is easier to blame Foley for “being in the area” than to admit the uncomfortable truth that ISIS wants all of us dead.  You, your children.  They want to behead all of you, and they are very, very clear on that being their goal.  Read their Twitter feed.  They like to post photos of beheaded children and put captions on them about how they plan to do it to you as well.  Their flag has been seen in front of the White House, their signs have been seen at the Ferguson protests.  While the country stares at Rioters Gone Wild down in Missouri, the southern border stands wide open, for as many jihadists as they want to bring in.

The death of James Foley was a disgusting, barbaric, awful act that I wish to God Almighty would be avenged.  But do not ignore the bigger picture.  Foley supported jihadists—and they didn’t care.  They took his head anyway…and they want yours next.

In the movie Independence Day, the socially-sensitive President, wanting to find some common ground for negotiations to end the hostilities and mounting death toll, asked one of the attacking, scorched-Earth-conquest aliens what they wanted us to do.

    The one-word response — Die

Not too-far removed from ISIS and its religious-purity brethren.

The only non-suicidal response from our side is to be 100% reciprocal.

Amen, Chris. This is a conversation I think I’ve had hundreds of times, and I’ll say here again. The only way you win against an enemy like ISIS who consistently says they want to kill you is two-fold. You take them seriously, and you kill them first. You kill them in ways they can understand. If they kill an American, you go down to Gitmo and you take ten of them and you behead them on video with a knife dipped in pig’s blood. You kidnap a bunch of them, let some females kill them, and then you pike their heads outside their village. You absolutely decimate them over and over and over until there is nothing left. You make it so incredibly dangerous to even SAY you support ISIS that it sends a message across the globe. Want to be an extremist? Great. Better start running.

James Foley is an example of what Stalin used to refer to as “useful idiots”.

Well sorry to wake you up from your violent bloodfest fantasy guys but those tactics wouldn’t work. Why ? Because that’s what Americans have been doing for the last 100 years already. Have you ever thought that that’s the it’s you guys who are the aggressors and what is happening is a response to the years of world bullying and black hand politics your government has been feeding
