Florida Decidedly Red Means Dems Are Defeated Again

Lots of news coming out of Florida last night. First is Mike Waltz’s vacated seat in Florida’s 6th Congressional District.

This went to Trump-endorsed Republican, Randy Fine, Democrat Josh Weil, a public school employee and political newcomer who raised nearly 10 times more than Fine.

Our guess is some voters (not the Democrats) did not buy into Josh Weil’s heavy push for gender transition treatments for children.

#TransRightsAreHumanRights and while we’re at it #MedicareForAll so that all trans children have free, and safe access to the medical services they need.”-Josh Weil

No, Josh. What they need is safe access to stable adults of sound mind and body who can give them the straight-up, loving truth of the realities of life and human anatomy. They need solid individuals who are not afraid to tell them “no, this is not how things work”.

It comes as no surprise that Weil may have been in some teacher unions’ pockets as well. Previous tweet receipts indicate that he was not a fan of a bill introduced in Iowa back in 2021, that “would have required teachers to give parents 7-days notice if they plan to ask their kids about their preferred pronouns.”

It’s all about the teachers. Not the parents. And, it’s certainly not about the kids. You know what else is BS, Josh? A parent finding out through the rumor mill that her child chooses to use different pronouns and is considering transitioning. Asking teachers to be responsible adults (not enablers of delusion) is not much of an ask when the parents are effectively funding their salaries. So, spare us the BS.

You know what was BS, though? This:

According to emails obtained by the Free Beacon, Weil faced a three-day suspension in July 2015 after he “slammed” a student to the ground. The school’s incident report confirms the ordeal, stating Weil ‘grabbed student by neck, threw to ground, left bruise on student’s head.’ In an interview with school officials, Weil described the student as ‘one of the smaller kids in the class’ and acknowledged that he ‘picked him up by his collar’ and ‘brought him to the ground.’ While Weil claimed he only engaged because the student was ‘slapping and hitting’ him, the student said he merely ‘grabbed Mr. Weil’s arm to speak to him,’ according to school records.”-The Washington Free Beacon

And yet, there is more from Weil’s days at Orange Youth Academy:

According to a March 2015 email, Weil repeatedly tormented a female colleague, who said the behavior made her ‘very uncomfortable’ and negatively impacted her work. On multiple occasions, the colleague said, Weil used a ‘stick’ to physically ‘prod’ her. Weil would also block the teacher’s ‘doorway with his body’ to prevent her from leaving her classroom—during one incident, records show, Weil told his colleague she ‘couldn’t leave’ and physically ‘poked’ her as she tried to unlock her door.”-The Washington Free Beacon

Eww.

While there are mixed reviews in the cyber universe on Mr. Fine, it is still a win for the Republicans. But, the winning doesn’t stop there. Taking another House seat for Florida is Republican, Jimmy Patronis, filling Matt Gaetz’s vacated seat. Patronis went up against Democrat Gay Valimont, who was convinced she could win:

Gay Valimont also ran a campaign with funds and Patronis, according to some liberal news outlets was nervous about Valimont’s campaign a few days ago. What put Patronis over the tipping point? Perhaps her affiliation with Moms Demand Action? Or that picture she took way back when with Kamala Harris?

Were Weil and Valimont both left? Absolutely. Weil may have been slightly more wack and woke than Valimont, however, with his embracing of the notion that children should be sterilized at a young age. But, how did two Democrats, flush with campaign cash and support lose two House seats in Florida?

Yes, we know Florida is a Red State. Even knowing this, I would venture to say that the results of this election may not have been the Republican candidates themselves that caused voters to cast their ballots the way they did. We’re seeing this unfold across the nation: the ideologies the Democrat brand now represents are causing even Democrats to vote Republican. Fine and Patronis didn’t necessarily stand out. But the messages and ideologies of Weil, Valimont and the Democrats in general, did. It did not matter their campaigns were flush with funds (Fine had to scrape funds together). Voters are tired of hearing the same lip service from the Democrats. Time will tell what Fine and Patronis will do in the House, but we will take the win for now. We need to have some wins to balance out last night’s Wisconsin.

Fine joins colleagues Craig Goldman (TX), Dave Kustoff (TN), and Max Miller (OH) to bring a new record four Jewish Republicans in the House. Wow!

“Every time, in every state, whenever lawmakers try to drop their baggage and bs on teachers, teachers leave.”
I think you have this kinda backwards, Mr. Weil. The actual problem is teachers dropping their baggage and bs on students.

This is basically a wash. The GOP kept 2 seats in Florida ((one of which had been vacant, so the GOP is effectively picking up a vote), but the woman elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court maintains the 4-3 Dem to GOP majority on that court, had she had made statements that she intends to use her new position to gerrymander the Wisconsin US House Districts so that the GOP will lose 2 seats.

On the good side her partisanship is so open and extremely biased that any attempt to re-draw the districts stands a good chance of being successfully challenged. This won’t flip Wisconsin from Blue to Red, but maybe mobilize enough otherwise indifferent conservatives to become interested and active and move the state from Blue to Purple. The Dems have spent enormous sums of these races. Sooner or later their deep pockets may dry up, especially if DOGE is successful in eliminating the U.S. agencies’ funding of NGOs.
