In a podcast with ABC News that was released on Friday, Dr. Anthony Fauci told the host that he’s thinking about retirement.
When asked if he was thinking of stepping down, or at least transitioning to another job, Fauci said:
“I certainly am because I’ve got to do it sometime.”
“I can’t stay at this job forever, unless my staff is going to find me slumped over my desk one day. I’d rather not do that.”
Dude. You’re 81, you’ve been a bureaucrat since … forever, and you’ve ruined countless lives over the past two years. Yeah, it’s time for you to go.
But you know that the ubiquitous little troll just can’t leave without pushing more pandemic porn. And that’s just what he did with Jake Tapper on CNN on Thursday.
During his interview with Tapper, the diminutive doc did relate some good news about the pandemic. Speaking of the BA.2 Omicron variant arising in Europe, Fauci said their ICU bed usage wasn’t up. And, their overall mortality is actually down. Sounds good, right?
But wait — this is Anthony Fauci we’re talking about here. And if there’s one thing that he’s good at, it’s spreading fear. Sure enough, he followed up with this:
“So when you ask me do we worry about it, we certainly are concerned because I would not be surprised, Jake, that if that in the next few weeks given the fact that we’ve begun to open up and we have an increase in BA.2 variant, that we’ll be seeing an increased cases. Hopefully, that’s not associated with an increase in hospitalizations and severe disease.”
Uh oh. The little dictator Fauci is back.
“Jake, it’s not too soon if you observe the caveat that’s associated with that. And the caveat is we need to be flexible. And if, in fact, we do see a turn-around and a resurgence, we have to be able to pivot and go back to any degree of mitigation that is commensurate with what the situation is.”
Read: a possible return to lockdowns, masking, and maybe (imagine Fauci rubbing his hands with glee) vaccine mandates!
Yep, and here we go:
“But the one thing that’s important, that’s a wild card in this is that there is waning immunity. We’ve got to make sure that those people who have been vaccinated get boosted. Only about 50 percent of the people who were eligible to be vaccinated have gotten their boost.“
Not one damn word about natural immunity. Or hybrid immunity, for that matter.
Leave it to the media to start spreading the fear. Like USA Today:
“New Covid variant is spreading across the US. Here’s what you need to know about BA.2”
And Newsweek:
“The Omicron BA.2 sub-type may become the dominant COVID variant in the U.S. within weeks, experts said.”
“Experts.” Pffft!
And then there’s this from a self-described “disability consultant” at Twitter:
“Even if we just use Delta or BA.1 (and BA.2 is even MORE transmissible,) Covid transmission can literally happen from an infected person walking briefly through a hallway unmasked, and a vulnerable person walking briefly the same hallway 2 hrs later. Yes, it’s really happened.”
Really? Receipts or it didn’t happen. Yet Fauci, the mainstream media, and social media thrive on this sort of fear.
We may be seeing a return to reason on the Covid task force with the arrival of Dr. Ashish Jha *fingers crossed.*
Dr. Jha is the new coordinator of the White House Covid Task Force who will replace Jeffrey Zients next month. Unlike the first coordinator, Dr. Deborah Birx, or NIAID head Anthony Fauci, Jha is not a lifelong bureaucrat. He’s a practicing physician and has served as Dean of Public Health at Brown University.
As far as BA.2 goes, Jha is not going into panic mode:
“Here’s what we know about BA.2. We know it’s a little bit more transmissible than BA.1, that subvariant of omicron that swept through America in January. Our vaccines, especially if you’re boosted, provide the same level of protection. It’s not any more severe than BA.1.”
Well that’s encouraging.
Jha sounds promising, especially since he comes from a public health background and not bureaucracy. Of course he promotes vaccines, but if he doesn’t push fear and ignore natural immunity as Fauci did we’ll be better off.
As for Anthony Fauci: the sooner he leaves the public stage, the better for us all. Just go away and retire already, will ya?

Go, get you out! Make haste! Ye venal slave[ ] be gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.
In the name of God, go!
(And put your masks where the sun don’t shine)
He deserves to stay in Gitmo for his crimes.
I heard Fauci say something, for the first time, the other day, when he added “natural immunity” to the list of things that can protect you from the new variant. He has shown very little respect for natural immunity throughout the pandemic and hasn’t pushed for anti-body tests to be available to the public.
He’ll never completely retire. The media will beg him to come to their studios so they can bask in his glory again.
