President Trump is “dumb as rocks”, but boggles the media and muddles the minds of Middle America with his genius and the brilliance of those around him. Trump’s goal is an Authoritarian Dictatorship and the end of “MUH” Democracy. Because of this, the elites of The Left believe it to be their duty to educate the ignorant masses on the evil of Orange Man Bad. That’s the takeaway from the latest batch of “Oh noes, Trump might win” hair on fire opinion pieces.

These latest paroxysms of hysteria have been brought about by Sean Hannity’s hour-long interview with Donald Trump. Here is a taste:

What did the dumb man mean that he would be a DICTATOR on Day One? Politico was convinced we saw the real Donald Trump:

Donald Trump said Tuesday he will not be a dictator “except for day one” if he returns to office in 2025.

In a town hall with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, the former president was pressed on whether he would disavow taking retributive action against all his enemies if he reentered the Oval Office. He initially shied away from responding, but when asked a second time said he would only be a dictator on the first day of his second term. He emphasized that it would be for two specific issues.

“I want to close the border and I want to drill, drill, drill,” Trump said. “Other than that, I am not a dictator.”

The remarks may have been an attempt to defuse an issue that has bubbled up in recent weeks, with various news outlets spotlighting an authoritarian bent of Trump’s proposed second-term approach. But they were also quickly spotlighted by President Joe Biden’s campaign, suggesting that they felt Trump had provided them with ample fodder of his intentions.

“Donald Trump has been telling us exactly what he will do if he’s reelected and tonight he said he will be a dictator on day one. Americans should believe him,” Biden-Harris campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement.

Go ahead and smack your forehead. I’ll wait. Next, Mediaite picked up on the dumb dictator manipulating the masses with Morning Joe:

Hannity asked Trump during Fox News’ town hall, “Under no circumstances, you are promising America tonight, you would never abuse power as retribution against anybody?”

“Except for day one,” replied Trump, repeating it moments later to adoring applause from the pro-Trump audience.

After Hannity asked Trump what he meant by that, Trump said, “I want to close the border, and I want to drill, drill, drill.”

“That’s not retribution,” Hannity pointed out before eventually throwing to a commercial.

Morning Joe producers ran that clip before Willie Geist could introduce it and toss to his co-host, Scarborough, who has long been warning of what he sees as Trump’s fascist and authoritarian ways, took the bait.

“If any other politician in American history were asked the question ‘are you going to be a dictator now?’” Scarborough mused rhetorically before noting, “Donald Trump never answered it. He never answered it.”

“There’s a sickness; there is a sickness among, unfortunately, some of our fellow Americans regarding authoritarianism and totalitarianism,” Scarborough pivoted to the crowd clapping. “They want it because Willie, when he promised that he would be a dictator on day one, he got applause!”

“Well, that’s on Fox News,” Mika Brzezinski said. “And therefore, a lot of people are watching.”

Might be a scoche jealous of the adoring audience applauding with a lot of people watching. The inside joke about dictators here is that the first things Joe Biden did was throw open the border and stop the drilling. Who are the fools now?

The humorless scolds who run Morning Joe’s social media posted this unironically:

Watching cable news is a frequent source of despair, but one especially fraught spiral occurred Monday while subjecting myself to “Morning Joe” on MSNBC. The segment guest was Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of the Atlantic, who was promoting his magazine’s thorough, frightening, and entirely accurate warning that Donald Trump’s goal is to end American democracy and replace it with a fascist system. A variety of Atlantic journalists from across the political spectrum contributed with heavily researched and smart analysis laying out Trump’s agenda of ending the rule of law, using extra-legal violence to suppress dissent, and securing his power so thoroughly voters will be unable to remove him peacefully.

In most ways, Trump is as dumb as rocks, but he and his team are alarmingly smart about how to manipulate the media. In this case, he’s figured out the best way to keep the muddled middle of American voters from knowing what he’s up to is to publicize it in the New York Times. It’s like hiding Christmas gifts in the basket of cleaning supplies, knowing kids will never voluntarily look there. The plot against America is hidden in plain sight.
