Since the day that President Trump came down the golden escalator in 2015, the media has carped on the fact that Trump demands loyalty but “extreme loyalty” of those he employs and does business with. What rarely gets mentioned is that not only does Trump reciprocate but his word is his bond, unlike, ahem, Joseph Hussein O’Biden. Today was a case in point as Trump talked warmly about his good friend, the assassinated Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Those on the Left find it impossible to believe that anyone had a good relationship, let alone a real friendship, with Donald Trump. The truth will out. Donald Trump had a great relationship and friendship with Shinzo Abe. PM Abe was assassinated on July 8, 2022, two years after he resigned from his position. Donald Trump’s loyalty and commitment to a friend has no expiration date. We saw that as Trump not only had warm words about Abe, but hosted Abe’s widow and SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son at Mar-a-Lago, his Florida home.

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday met with Akie Abe, the widow of slain former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, his wife said.

The former president, who will return to the White House for his second term on Jan. 20, and Melania Trump are believed to have hosted a private dinner for her. It is the first known meeting between Trump and a Japanese individual since he won the Nov. 5 presidential election.

“It was a privilege to host Mrs. Akie Abe at Mar-a-Lago once again,” Trump’s wife said on X, posting a photo of the three, with Akie Abe in the middle. “We fondly remembered her late husband, former Prime Minister Abe, and honored his remarkable legacy.”

Melania Trump did post a picture of herself with President Trump and Mrs. Akie Abe on X:

Elon Musk also paid tribute to Mrs. Abe:

Loyalty and honor are still considered virtues in Japan and so these gestures toward Mrs. Abe will not be overlooked.

Trump spoke for well over an hour from Mar-a-Lago. It is worth noting that the press will kvetch that Trump jumped from topic to topic, instead of being grateful for the transparency.

Trump has built his reputation with foreign dignitaries over the years. He has dealt with them honestly and honorably. They know that Trump is not available for purchase. Blessings to Mrs. Abe.
