DeSantis to Trump: You’re On Your Own

Donald Trump may be revving up his base by painting a picture of him shackled and frog-marched on the orders of New York DA Alvin Bragg, but FL Gov. Ron DeSantis doesn’t want any part of it.

In a news conference on Monday, DeSantis told reporters that he won’t involve himself in any possible Trump indictment:

I have no interest in getting involved in some type of manufactured circus by some Soros DA. He’s trying to do a political spectacle … I’ve got real issues I’ve got to deal with here in the state of Florida.

We’re not getting involved in it in any way.

The Florida governor and potential presidential candidate did throw some righteous shade at Soros puppet Bragg, however:

He, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, they weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety. He has downgraded over 50% of the felonies to misdemeanors. He says he doesn’t want to even have jail time for the vast, vast majority of crimes.

Under Florida law, the governor can intervene in an extradition, such as if Trump were to be extradited from Mar-a-Lago to New York. But DeSantis has decided to stay away from the circus.

It was a smart move on DeSantis’s part. Besides, on Friday, Trump attorney Joe Tacopina said that he would cooperate with any arrest:

There won’t be a standoff at Mar-a-Lago with Secret Service and the Manhattan DA’s office.

Plus, it gave DeSantis a chance to blast a far-left district attorney, which is popular among conservatives. So, win-win.

MAGA Faithful Not Happy With DeSantis

After the news conference, Donald Trump Jr. accused DeSantis of being owned by Karl Rove and Paul Ryan. Like father, like son, amirite?

Pure weakness. Now we know why he was silent all weekend. He’s totally owned by Karl Rove, Paul Ryan & his billionaire donors. 100% Controlled Opposition.

In addition, Steve Bannon and Mike Lindell, aka the “My Pillow Guy,” teamed up to trash Ron DeSantis on Bannon’s “War Room,” tweeting:

Steve Bannon says Ron DeSantis’ comments on Trump was “a weasel approach,” and Mike Lindell said DeSanits [sic] is “a Trojan horse” and “disgusting.”

Perhaps Bannon and Lindell should chill out on the new “My Pillow 2.0” with the cooling interior.

Finally, someone calling themself “MAGA originalist” (with a blue check, too!) tweeted:

DeSantis is sinking faster than the titanic, and his only opposition is from few Twitter accounts, mostly anons. The world’s most powerful institutions & menacing forces have been attempting to take down Trump for 7 years, and he’s still standing firm, only growing stronger. They are not built the same.

Yeah, well, the midterms said otherwise.

Ron Got the Better of Don

Needless to say, Donald Trump wasn’t happy with the Florida governor not standing up for him in the manner which he expected.  So after the news conference, the former president took to Truth Social to blast “Ron DeSanctimonious:”

Ron DeSanctimonious will probably find out about FALSE ACCUSATIONS & FAKE STORIES sometime in the future, as he gets older, wiser, and better known.

He also added, but then deleted:

Ron will probably find out about this sometime in the future when he’s unfairly and illegally attacked by a woman (or
possibly a man!) with false accusations.

But Trump then reposted that comment along with this old story, which had emerged in October, 2021, from the bowels of a Democrat Super PAC:

Trump had originally posted the accusation in February, and DeSantis responded at the time with this:

I spend my time delivering results for the people of Florida and fighting against Joe Biden; that’s how I spend my time. I don’t spend my time trying to smear other Republicans.

But then at Monday’s press conference he got back at Trump by telling the amused reporters:

I don’t know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair, I can’t speak to that.

Heh.

So Trump blew up, probably because he wasn’t expecting DeSantis to return fire. And he handled it in typical Trump fashion: making witless, puerile smears and threats.

But this too will blow over, and Alvin Bragg’s politically driven indictment will fizzle out as well. However, things are only starting to get hot for Trump: his attorneys are looking to quash a special grand jury report that investigated whether or not Trump and his allies interfered with the 2020 Georgia election results. Now that’s much more weighty than paying hush money to some porn star for services rendered.

Honestly, if Trump’s attorney isn’t going to fight the extradition then what is the point?

The point … TFG’s (the 280 pound malignant tumor) legal counsel has finally figured out they will will be the ones to pay the price because TFG will hang them out to dry when he is faced with being held accountable. Just look at his past attorneys, all of whom are facing severe charges for lying, obstruction and other crimes. Too many people have fallen on a sword for this liar and his circle of idiots willing to take the punishment is getting smaller and smaller. I hope his current attorney (he’s gone through so many I don’t pay attention to their names any more) got the malignant tumor to pay a retainer or else they are up the shit creek without a paddle.

Well we’ll, if it isn’t Wannabe Roehm again.

Yeah, sure. That’s Trump’s fault. And not at all the process of disgusting, extremely politicized, and authoritarian violation of the basic principle that everyone has a right to a legal defense as shown by systematic demonization, harassment, and attacks against anybody representing Trump. Totally. And you guys think we are the Fascists?

“Too many people have fallen on a sword for this liar”

It’s easy to fall on a sword when it is being pushed at you by corrupt, woke, leftists who want to claim that Trump does not deserve the rights of other Presidents, Ex-Presidents, or even lay civilians.

“and his circle of idiots willing to take the punishment is getting smaller and smaller. “

And that was always your policy. Trump had to be destroyed pour encourager Les autres. Because for all of his many foibles he was both utterly fearless to the point of being rash and utterly incorruptible (at least in the ways important to your fellows). So he and everybody around him had to be utterly destroyed. Which is why you are reliant on the corrupt, the ruthless, and the shameless like Weissman.

“I hope his current attorney (he’s gone through so many I don’t pay attention to their names any more) “

Unsurprising since you don’t pay attention to much. You couldn’t even pay attention to the fact that elephants aren’t actually scared of mice.

“got the malignant tumor to pay a retainer or else they are up the shit creek without a paddle.”

We’ll see. Even by the low standards of corrupt New York State law fare this indictment is and was weak and devoid of merit. But that isn’t something you care about.

Kevin and his kind are going to sob and sink even deeper into TDS when this ends up being a big round of nothing.

      • Cameron says:

You haven’t posted for a while. Maybe you should resume that habit.

  • Taylor says:

Tough luck, Trump. After your childish and petulant insults no wonder DeSantis does not want to help you out!
