Democracy Of Israel Almost Gets A Chuckle From Ilhan Omar

Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) seems to be going out of her way to flout her anti-Semitism all the while denying that she is an anti-Semite. In an interview with Zainab Salbi for Yahoo News, Omar showed her ugly evil. She called for high taxes on the rich because she is a Socialist. She explained why she wears a hijab on the floor of the House of Representatives. We don’t care, as Marta wrote she could wear a decapitated raccoon on her head. And, she said that we have a double standard for Israel and that calling it a Democracy almost made her want to chuckle. Following is the video of the relevant “chuckle” comment:

Equal approach? She doesn’t think that the United States has had an equal approach? We have bent over backwards for the Palestinians. Hamas and Hezbollah may not be bff’s but Hamas has received military training from Hezbollah and Hamas lobs rockets into Israel. And yet, such is the state of anti-Semitism in the world that Palestine portrays itself as the victim, as Omar made clear.

She wants to chuckle at the idea that Israel is a democracy? Palestine considers itself a democracy, but is best a third tier mobocracy. Somalia, the birth country of Omar, doesn’t even have a truly stable government. If Somalia had, Ilhan Omar could have stayed there to spew her hatred without infecting and infesting our country.

And, Ilhan has her hijab in a twist because Israel declared itself a Jewish state. Well, butter my backside and call me a biscuit. There are five million Jews in Israel and there are about one million Muslims. That makes Israel a de facto Jewish state. There is also a question as to whether the Knesset actually declared Israel a Jewish State. From Religion News Service:

In the wee hours of Thursday (July 19), Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, passed a controversial nation-state law that explicitly defines Israel as the “national home of the Jewish people.”

The law passed 62-55 during a heated session that revealed deep divisions within Israeli society over the religious and democratic character of what many have long called the Jewish state.

First introduced in 2011 and amended many times before being approved, the law states that Jerusalem is Israel’s “united” capital. It also recognizes the Jewish Shabbat as the official day of rest while allowing non-Jews to observe their own Sabbath. Independence Day is now an official holiday, and Holocaust Remembrance Day and Memorial Day are recognized as days of mourning.

I am no lawyer, but there is a galaxy of difference between having an official state religion and declaring a place to be a home of a people. Israel recognizes Judaism, Christianity and Islam as religions and does not infringe upon the free exercise of those religions.

As The Guardian reported in late 2017, twenty percent of the world’s countries have a state religion and of those, the majority favor Islam:

More than one in five countries has an official state religion, with the majority being Muslim states, and a further 20% of countries have a preferred or favoured religion.

A slim majority (53%) of counties has no official or preferred religion, and 10 (5%) are hostile to religion, according to a report by the Washington-based Pew Research Center.

Most of the 43 countries with state religions are in the Middle East and North Africa, with a cluster in northern Europe. Islam is the official religion in 27 countries in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa as well North Africa and the Middle East.

And, what about Ilhan Omar’s pet country, Palestine? From the Jewish Virtual Library:

Islam is the official religion of the Palestinian Authority.18 In addition, fundamentalist Hamas and Islamic Jihad have promoted Islamic influence on Palestinian society.

Officially, the PA claims to treat Palestinian Christians equally and pointedly seeks to display this publicly. Christmas is an official holiday. Arafat has stated as his mission “the protection of the Christian and Muslim holy places,”19 and several Christians have held prominent PA positions.

Occasionally, however, contrary messages slip through. In a Friday sermon on October 13, 2000, broadcast live on official Palestinian Authority television from a Gaza mosque, Dr. Ahmad Abu Halabiya proclaimed: “Allah the almighty has called upon us not to ally with the Jews or the Christians, not to like them, not to become their partners, not to support them, and not to sign agreements with them.”20

In addition, no PA law protects religious freedom.

Oh, sorry Ilhan Omar, you lose again. Thanks for playing “Can you tell the truth?”. We have some lovely parting gifts and your parking has been validated.

Israel is a democracy. Israel is our ally. Ilhan can go sell her anti-Semitism somewhere else. Either she is ignorant of history and fact or she is playing a game of Taqiyya and deceiving us non-believers. It’s up to you America. I stand with Israel and rebuke Ilhan Omar. Chuckle at that.

Well, they’re hostile to religions other than the Almighty State.

Most of the 43 countries with state religions are in the Middle East and North Africa, with a cluster in northern Europe.
And that cluster in northern Europe is beginning to look more and more like the ones in the Middle East and North Africa.

or she is playing a game of Taqiyya
    This one.
