DEI Strikes Again: Boy Scouts Change Name To Scouting America

In order to be even MORE inclusive, Boy Scouts of America is dropping the word BOY from its name. Starting next year, the organization will be known as Scouting America.

The Boy Scouts of America today announced that it will rebrand to Scouting America, reflecting the organization’s ongoing commitment to welcome every youth and family in America to experience the benefits of Scouting. The change will go into effect on February 8, 2025, the organization’s 115th anniversary.

This announcement also comes as the organization celebrates the fifth anniversary of welcoming girls into Cub Scouting and Scouts BSA programs. Scouting America currently serves more than 176,000 girls and young women across all programs, including over 6,000 who have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

“Though our name will be new, our mission remains unchanged: we are committed to teaching young people to be Prepared. For Life,” said Roger A. Krone, president and chief executive officer of Scouting America. “This will be a simple but very important evolution as we seek to ensure that everyone feels welcome in Scouting.”

This is an organization that was geared towards BOYS only. Just as Girl Scouts is GIRLS only, the Boy Scouts should’ve remained as such. However, back in 2018, as we reported, the organization opened their doors to girls. It’s incumbent to note that the Girl Scouts organization do NOT allow boys, but they do allow transgenders to join and have done so for the last ten or so years.

Unfortunately, the publicity surrounding the reports of boys being molested by Scout leaders really hurt the Boy Scouts, leading to a declaration of bankruptcy. So, in order to boost numbers, they opened the doors to Scouts who are gay or who are girls. Furthermore, they have gone all in on DEI. So much so that there’s a new badge for efforts and the Scouts can volunteer for DEI training so they can have meaningful dialogues around the campfire!

Evidently, opening the doors to girls and gays hasn’t been “inclusive” enough, hence the rebranding.

“In the next 100 years we want any youth in America to feel very, very welcome to come into our programs,” Roger Krone, who took over last fall as president and chief executive officer, said in an interview before the announcement.

Now, by dropping the word BOY from Boy Scouts and turning it into Scouting America, everything is going to be so much better and way more inclusive or something!

Angelique Minett, the first woman chairperson of Scouts BSA, the traditional scouting program for youth aged 11 to 17, says te organization is much more than just camping.

“When we think scouts we think knots and camping, but those are a means to an end,” Minett told the Associated Press.

“We are actually teaching kids a much bigger thing. We are teaching them how to have grit, and we’re teaching them life skills and we’re teaching them how to be good leaders.”

Except teaching leadership is something that has always been taught in the Boy Scouts! Those values had been taught since the organization started 114 years ago! But evidently, this type of inclusion is going to be so much better than the old type of inclusion.

South Park called this just a few years ago.

Indeed, the Boy Scouts are rebranding in an effort to potentially recoup some of their financial losses, and pander to the left. The very same left who only wants the Boy Scouts gutted, feminized, and eventually disbanded.

However, we aren’t supposed to be upset about this. Because that backlash, according to Newsweek, is just icky and annoying.

X user @blackhawkce457 wrote, “Find another program to put your kids in. Pretty soon it will be run by drag queens and called twerk camp.”

Radio host Mark Davis said, “God help us. We can’t have ‘boy scouts’ any more.”

X user @iAnonPatriot said, “Boy Scouts of America will drop ‘boy’ from their name,” and included an eye emoji.

X user @AngelRe96386095 said, “Leave the Boy Scout name as it is. Guys can’t get a break. Do women have to be involved in everything that is specifically for the guys? Grow the hell up females! Sometimes I’m embarrassed to be one.”

Krone, who is the current leader of the Boy Scouts, excuse me, Scouting America, opined that this move will ensure that anyone who joins can bring their most authentic self to the experience. RIIIGHT.

You know what that means don’t you? The values and traditions of MEN are being booted to the curb and stomped on for good measure. How soon will it be that anything to do with Faith and Patriotism within the Boy Scouts disappears altogether?

We are shorting a child’s development, putting boys and girls together at an age when they should be apart, to experience things unique to boys and things unique to girls.

Because they are run by human beings, every organization eventually loses sight of its purpose. Part of the reason for this is that ambitious people will take over a successful organization just because they want to be somebody. Such people are not necessarily committed to what the organization they have taken over does.

The BSA apparently serves as a perfect example of leaders who have taken over an organization who don’t care about the purpose of their organization. They don’t even care about the welfare of boys.

It doesn’t even have to be ambitious people. It can be people who are scared by diminishing membership or reduced growth, and are more concerned about numbers than about that originally stated purpose. Yes, it’s a very human thing that happens to organizations, and doesn’t require a nefarious enemy to have happen.

Nefarious enemies sure will take advantage of it, though.

RIP Boy Scouts.. it was good to know you.. time to get rid of my old stuff, that organization no longer exists

Does anyone else find it ironic that the Boy Scouts, which was excoriated for excluding gay men from leadership positions, was sued into bankruptcy by men who were molested as boys by gay Scout leaders?

  • Cameron says:

This is why you don’t allow gay men to have positions of power over children. We saw it in the Catholic Church and now see it in the Boy Scouts.

There was nothing stopping the Girl Scouts from offering similar programs to what the Boy Scouts had. But it was a good run while it lasted.
