Could Black Lives Matter, Anti-Trump Protesters Hand Trump the Presidency?

Could Black Lives Matter, Anti-Trump Protesters Hand Trump the Presidency?

It’s a question asked in USA Today and it’s a good one. First, let’s remember the latest police officer whose life was senselessly taken two days ago:

Officer Jacai Colson was killed Sunday outside Prince George’s County police station in Maryland after three gunman, all brothers, ambushed officers, unprovoked. The trio reportedly recorded the attack “for fun.” Yesterday afternoon, it was determined that Officer Colson was shot by friendly fire amid crossfire during the attack. From WUSA9:

Do you hear that? It’s the sound of silence coming from the White House, Black Lives Matter, and the whole of the Democrat Party.

Voters are fed up with the targeting of our police officers, and a federal government who continues to demonize and devalue them. It could very well be 1968 all over again, when a guy by the name of Richard Nixon saw an inroad to the presidency paved in lawlessness and rioting, and the public’s desire to get the chaos under control. Like today, the White House was held by an administration perceived to be soft on crime, coupled with a rising tide of militancy. Sound eerily familiar to Black Lives Matter and their blaming, and targeting, of law enforcement for every ill under the sun?

Ted Cruz has tapped into this anger. Last week he praised police amid a standing ovation honoring a law enforcement officer in a town hall audience who stood to ask him a question. Here’s what he said, and how the audience reacted:

It’s a resonating message, one that flies in the face of seven years of anti-police rhetoric coming from the highest offices in the land. People have grown weary of it, with support of our law enforcement officers far outweighing any message of police officers deliberately targeting our black communities. And it’s an argument Hillary—a horrible candidate anyway for myriad reasons—cannot win. Clinton continues to coddle the Black Lives Matter crowd, painting law enforcement as “terrorizers” of black communities while invoking language like “white terrorism” to describe millions of potential voters. At the same time, she self-righteously blames Donald Trump for violence at his campaign rallies where MoveOn.org has sent its minions, yet neglects to hold her own supporters, and those of Bernie Sanders, who perpetrate violence against their fellow Americans and our police responsible for their own violent behavior. They’re messages we’re sick of. Messages like this:

Organized violence. Like that which we witnessed Friday night, funded by MoveOn and George Soros. That message, which she’s repeated many a time over the past months as she panders for votes from our black communities, will be, if our eventual nominee is shrewd, looped 24/7 in a campaign that promises to be the most scorched-earth presidential race in recent history.

And then there’s Donald Trump, who’s also recognized that most of us are sick and tired of the mistreatment of our law enforcement community. Trump is nothing if not an opportunistic chameleon. He says what we want to hear. He repeats it frequently. He presents himself as a “strong man.” And it’s a message that’s resonating, at least with a significant portion of both Republican and “other” voters. And that message includes the demonization of cops:

Whether you believe Trump is sincere or not, his message is right. Millions of us are fed up with the fascist Black Lives Matter movement, and other leftist organizations, blocking roads, heckling candidates, burning our flag, chanting for the deaths of police officers, and causing general mayhem just about everywhere they go. Friday night’s protest-turned-riot was just one more instance in a long line of what some of us see as terrorism coupled with a concerted effort to shut down opposing speech, good, bad, or ugly, and incite violence, often resulting in injuring, or worse, of bystanders and law enforcement. And it just may be what loses Hillary the election. Maybe. Because it’s scenes like this, where leftists shut down speech they disapprove of, violently if necessary, that those of us with an ounce of common sense are sick and tired of:

They won’t be going away anytime soon. Bank on it. But will it be Trump’s ticket to the GOP nomination, and ultimately the presidency (whether he’d be a decent POTUS is another conversation altogther)? Or will Ted Cruz’s similar message also draw voters in? Will the “protests” grow, morphing to the point that enough people are sufficiently fed up, as in 1968, to vote for perceived law and order over a woman who routinely takes the side of lawlessness just like the current administration? This evening will bring us the results of Super Tuesday Part Deux, and we’ll see if voters are still buying what Donald’s selling, sincerely or otherwise. Or if they turn to Cruz as a viable alternative with a documented history of keeping his word, and an expressed commitment to our law enforcement. Tonight should tell us whether or not we do, indeed, have a legitimate two-man race on our hands that may eventually provide us the answers.
