The Iran Deal has, as we’ve pointed out many times, only benefitted Iran. In fact, that deal was more craptastic than any of us knew. Turns out Obama gave Iranian-backed Hezbollah multiple get-out-of-jail free cards in order to get the Iran Deal done.

In its determination to secure a nuclear deal with Iran, the Obama administration derailed an ambitious law enforcement campaign targeting drug trafficking by the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, even as it was funneling cocaine into the United States, according to a POLITICO investigation.

The information about Project Cassandra, a major investigation launched by the DEA in 2008, published by Politico sheds a very bright light on how hard Obama, Ben Rhodes and others in that administration worked to undermine the safety and security of this United States.

• Project Cassandra was tasked with investigating the $1 billion per year enterprises of money laundering along with weapons and drug trafficking that Hezbollah was involved in
• They tracked billions of dollars worth of cocaine shipments into the U.S.
• Justice and Treasury departments under Obama Administration hindered or shut down requests involving multiple aspects of the investigations
• DOJ refused to let criminal charges be filed against a Lebanese bank, Hezbollah’s envoy to Iran, or a key player in a U.S. based cell of Iran’s paramilitary Quds force.
• Hezbollah laundered money, $483, 142, 568 worth, through 30 car dealerships in the United States
• CIA Director John Brennan, wanted Hezbollah assimilated into Lebanon’s political infrastructure at the time of Project Cassandra because they were an ‘interesting’ organization

That’s just the tip of the iceberg of the mind-boggling and infuriating information found in Politico’s report.

Remember the news about the pallets of cash that got sent to Iran?

I don’t care one whit that all that cash was Iran’s to begin with. That country is and always will be a state sponsor of terror. That cash should’ve stayed here in the United States instead of landing in Iran. Now it’s highly likely a significant portion was sent to Hezbollah so they could continue feeding cocaine into the U.S.

To grease Iran deal Obama admin let Hezbollah enrich itself with billions of dollars for several years, then stood aside while Hezbollah invaded Syria to save Assad.

The result was half a million Syrians killed and an Iran land bridge to the Med.

Exactly. As the report shows, the investigators were doing a terrific job with Project Cassandra, but Obama and crew threw road blocks at every turn. In response to Politico’s research, former officials for the Obama Administration had this to offer:

“There has been a consistent pattern of actions taken against Hezbollah, both through tough sanctions and law enforcement actions before and after the Iran deal,” said Kevin Lewis, an Obama spokesman who worked at both the White House and Justice Department in the administration.

Lewis, speaking for the Obama administration, provided a list of eight arrests and prosecutions as proof.

Well that’s just super! Right? WRONG. You see, those arrests were made AFTER the Iran Deal was signed, sealed and delivered!

Not only that, but as Pajama Media’s Liz Shed points out, we need to reexamine Obama’s Cash for Clunkers program. Why? Remember all we’ve written regarding Debbie Wasserman Shultz’s IT pal Imran Awan and his family band? Well, Imran and crew ALSO were given funds to open car dealerships. There is a direct connection between the Imran Awan crew and Hezbollah laundering money through car dealerships as noted above.

Under the auspices of the Iran Deal, Obama freed terrorists. Prior to the deal being finalized, Obama ENABLED the terrorist organization called Hezbollah to launder money and bring drugs into the United States.

Some senior Obama officials threw shade at the investigators claims that Project Cassandra was derailed due to political considerations. However, this bit of info derails that snark.

One Obama-era Treasury official, Katherine Bauer, in little-noticed written testimony presented last February to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, acknowledged that “under the Obama administration … these [Hezbollah-related] investigations were tamped down for fear of rocking the boat with Iran and jeopardizing the nuclear deal.”

The Obama Administration threw Project Cassandra under the bus thus letting Hezbollah get away with more terrorism, along with trafficking drugs and money laundering IN the United States. Why?  Because the Iran Deal mattered more to Obama than the safety and security of the United States.
